I can say that while stfu ignores that Denver has been investing in and bringing online more commuter lines than any large city in recent memory, he is right that they fucked up by not including any express tracks. Those trains would see a lot more ridership if the troops were faster. Still, 20 years from now, the train will still take the same amount of time and driving will take twice as long. But a train through the mountains? I don't see it happening nor do I think it's a great solution.

considering I have to drive home tomorrow after my kid's ski lesson (to see the Stringdusters in Denver) rather than stay the weekend, the lane opening couldn't have happened at a better time!

So how will they keep it closed? I'm willing to bet people try to use it if/when traffic gets really bad. Cops can't monitor it when traffic is bumper to bumper and not moving.
