For anyone who shares my distaste for the new cotrip site, here was the response I got from CDOT:
Don't know how long that little icon in the bottom will be there, but fuck yeah it works.I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the new CoTrip site. It is a bit of an adjustment for all of us. I am sure once you get used to it, you will find it more useful than before. We have simply layered the tools on top of the map. If you click on any of the items in the Interactive Map Box, you can click on any of the icons to the left of the map to display the tools. I’d be happy to walk you through it if you want to call me.
If you still find the site not user-friendly, you can go to the new site and then click on the little "CoTrip" button at the bottom left of the screen to view the old site.

I'm pretty sure my version of early retirement isn't the same as yours. I can't not work... it's one of the reasons I live where I do... keeps me busy. And while I'm not pushing electrons for the man any more, I'm still involved in developing several networks, which gives me plenty of screen time to argue with you morons...
Nope. I wasn't even directly involved with the project. Some of my colleagues are working the legal end of this project.
That post was in reply to you saying that I "don't understand how transportation works."
You still haven't explained to me what it is about my post regarding high speed rail that makes you think I don't understand transit. I'll post it here again for you.
Maybe instead of slinging shit you can explain to me why you disagree with my opinion regarding high speed rail along the I-70 corridor.
I understand that the project along I-70 seems like a fiasco but are you all really opposed to incremental improvements along I-70?? This new express lane only cost 70 million dollars compared to the 4 billion dollars a complete I-70 expansion would cost, and there is potential that this project might actually help traffic, provided people don't crash into the jersey barriers.

I think that could be a real issue give their width in places...provided people don't crash into the jersey barriers.
This project has been a public private partnership from the start. CDOT didn't have enough money to complete the project without the help of a private party.
This is the same reason that US-36 now has a tolled express lane.
Within the next few years C-470 will be expanded. 3 lanes (2 public, 1 tolled) from I-70 to Broadway and 4 lanes (2 tolled, 2 public) from Broadway to I-25.
I-70 will also be getting tolled express lanes through central Denver.
Within a few years the only significant freeway in the Denver metro area without a tolled lane will be 225.
There is a reason that we are seeing so many tolled lanes and P3 projects throughout Colorado. This is all that TABOR allows.
I already bookmarked the old page. But chances are, whenever (if?) they remove the icon, they will remove the legacy site that it leads to.
So, to put it in terms that are on your level, let me rephrase since your peabrain can't seem to grasp what I wrote. "Don't know how long the legacy site, which the little icon in the bottom links to, will be there, but fuck yeah it works." I'm fairly sure most people understood the first time, but I know it was a little tough for you.

Remember, if you are stuck in traffic, you are part of the problem.
I vote for trimming the corridor down to one lane, 45 mph speed limit, 4wd only, and require studded snow tires. No plows so bring a shovel. If you can't make it up, no pow for you. Suck it gapers.![]()
You are going to have to go around, you are going the wrong way. Go around.
I drive between Wads & 25 everyday. What moron determined Broadway to be the 4 lane cut off? Traffic westbound doesn't clear until Wads. Eastbound, the mess starts at Wads. Construction will crush the economy as people will avoid driving as much as possible. The secondary roads can only take so much traffic before they become a parking lot. I guess I'll be biking to work more often. Hope they don't f'up the bike path as well.
For what it's worth, I responded to one of those annoying phone surveys that I adamantly opposed tolls lanes and taxes should go up in the 470 region to pay for extra lanes for everyone.
I avoid I-70 on weekends like the plague. Unfortunately, I have an unavoidable 9:15pm out of Denver, Sunday night. When does the traffic usually clear on Sunday night?
The dude that owns Cacona, drives to Boulder from Aspen after dinner every Sunday night and says he never hits traffic, but I might be a little earlier.
Och. Weekdays, I'd be leaving at 4-4:30.
You should probably leave now.
THERE WILL BE A TOLL LANE TO AVOID TRAFFIC

Love that there's a sign that says 'Fees waived through Fall 2015'. Someone was a bit optimistic.
