Any Steamboat mags getting out tomorrow? Snowed all day on the mountain and still going strong up on Rabbit ears. Moved here over the summer with the wife. I've been sled skiing up on Buff Pass in the past, but looking to get out to stretch the skinning legs and not familiar with early season spots. I'd definitely be down to meet up, or feel free to PM me if you might have any suggestions. Beers on me for your input*...thanks!

Skinned up around T-head yesterday (wanted to go further but having new boot issues) Coverage is decent above the base of Pony and considering how much snow fell in the storm and what existed prior to the storm above Four Points there's probably close to 2 ft. at the summit with 6-8 under the new 15-17.

Did a lap this in Butler Gulch this morning. Coverage is pretty good for early November, but i just stuck to few hundred vert right above treeline. Powder is a bit grabby, but overall not too bad.

Disagree. Fantastic conditions in butler. Put the first turns of the year in hourglass this am. So $$$, cold, light and deep. No wind! No sharks. About 3 feet of pow in the gulch. Cold and light early. Started warming at midday and snow on s/e aspects started consolidating. No slab yet, and no pwl. Lots of folks gettin' after it on Jones too. Stoke level rising. So good to get Faceshots again.

Nice! Skinned to top of Storm Peak this morning. Everything above Four Points was well covered and at least 2 feet like you said. Hit nothing and the snow was soft and stable. Below that was a different story, but to be expected. Well worth the effort and felt good to stretch the legs. Hope next week delivers a bit more!

Great day last thurs @ Monarch skinning. 48 hrs of snow. They underreported another 6"
fri. Bottomless run on the steeps. We should have a good opening.

8 hours at the Beav was a good way to get the touring legs in shape. Managed to get in 1 top to bottom and 8 upper-only laps before I was toast. More food and water may have helped?

NOAA is talking bigger numbers for WC than Joel. The BUT will be the wind, supposed to be smoking most all day tue., and even stronger over night.


No idea what that means there? Guessing blown off the top, and super deep in the flats?

Skied around west summit area on rabbit ears pass over the weekend, good powder in spots ~ 2-3' of snow. Lots of hoar on surface as of Sunday AM. Got super busy towards noon, we got an early start so we had it mostly to ourselves.

I can't imagine either would be good given both are typically windblown with rocky terrain underneath. I know the apron on DT isn't full enough yet. Ptarmigan, Lamb's, maybe other steep gashes would be your best bet in the park currently.

Thanks. I try and avoid the park in the summer so I'm not super familiar with the underlying terrain. Find somewhere else for the weekend.

As of 6:30AM in Boulder.... less than 1" on the ground, no coverage at all on pavement. Gonna be back to 60s and blasting sun tomorrow. Glad I decided to hold off on mounting the snow tires for another week or 2.
