Looks like a damp week but not especially cold. I'll bet a WROD is open somewhere by the weekend.

Loveland just announced Oct 29 as their opening day.
Clearly those skis sacrificed to Ullr in September are paying off. It's dumping at Luv.
Ullr has blessed us Loveland skiers -- A-Basin is going to open tomorrow to keep the hordes away from Luv.

Some folks making turns up on Indy lately... Haven't had a chance to call and ask how it actually is. The gullies look nice and filled in.
I'm sure the next storm or two will close the gates for the season.

Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
19 degrees at the homestead this morning, snow sticking to the ground here but down in town is dry. Pushing 38 now with hazy skies. Mid-20's for the past few evenings, colder than what's been forecasted.. Top of Steamboat is already taking shape with trees plastered in white. Au natural...so we wait...PT, hot springs and lots of gym time to keep busy in the meantime.
Thanks for the mt update Jax. How are you doing these days?

Can we move these new stick guns up there? Maybe we can crowd fund the pump for that.

Monster El Ninos….historically, does this mean a very concentrated storm track (southern CA, AZ, NM, get ridiculously walloped exclusively, instead of above average winter), or just a ton more moisture for the southern US?

Good resources, but not really what I’m thinking
It will snow more down south. Let’s roll with that.
Historically most of CO is indifferent to El Nino, but yea the track is gonna matter.
bestsnow.net is maybe what you're looking for?
Yeah, will dig around there. Wondering if the strength of El Nino/La Nino determines the variance of the storm track. Monster El Nino doesn’t move the needle if it’s only hammering Mt Lemon.
Would El Nino likely prevent the nagging high pressure ridge from building in the West, that has been such a problem during mid-season?
Ridiculously resilient ridge already broke down. That door is open
Looks like they are finally pulling the moguls out of storage at Purg...

Abasin can suck it !
Yes, they have better terrain; but to give Loveland kudos and then try to undercut them at the last minute to pull some of their skiers over is bushleague. If abasin would've checked if it was possible and then make the announcement the same day, then sure; they did not want to get beat; but to luck out that they got enough snow Tuesday to open on thursday and jump on lovelands parade after giving it up; sad.

In other news... a white ribbon that was not death just a few miles away. (Not my photo)
