The next two weekends are official work days too. Really hoping people come out to help, There's a lot of projects lined up that will need all the people we can get! This mountain is going to be looking so sick going into the season, I can't wait to ski all these new trees!!
Hey man, you're too kind; keep a couple of those shots for yourself. You've earned it.

No Lat/Long for this one. This one belongs to the ones that have worked so hard to make it killer.

Yep. That's just too hidden. Nobody will ever just find that. Talk about a super stashed powder bank!!

Yay, another secret tree trail; the new skier visits should really be going up this year. The Magicment needs to get this stat included in the Ski Magazine resort rankings.

"#1 in the East for Secret Tree Trails is Magic Mountain. Located in beautiful Londonderry, VT Magic once again tops our rankings in secret tree trails...."

Well we're also doing 3 new ones that we purposely stuck places you will 100% find so I think that's a decent compromise. Also planning on doing some much needed cleanups on local faves all over the place. Believe me when I say that Magic will have more than ever to ski this winter. The trees have never been like this- ever. I hope all this office/lawyer/paperwork just ends already so we can get back to the gnarshredstokezzz.

After all, the next two weekends are volunteer work day'ers too. That's going to be huge and to maximize the pow skiing we've got to stay on our game.

october 11 is the day i buy a stratton mid-week pass unless there is some clue what the deal is. Website says, "pass sales resume in october" This situation is making me a fair weather customer, I'm pissed about it too.

Is this the "Season of Sleds and Skins"?

Or will we be singing, "Back in/on Black"... (With red waiting around the corner, of course).

Im planning to come prune at least the fest weekend. Only way to guarantee Magic opens because I won't have time to get it much this year.

Any truth to the rumor I'm about to start that MM was purchased by Benny and he plans to move it to CO?

I applaud your efforts, but for the vast majority of families who might be swayed to come check things out, it won't draw them.

Somewhat more mundane, assuming black is back as per the FB post, how does Magic plan to unload people? As of labor day weekend there was no unloading station on black. Even for people not named Benny, using the existing unloading facilities could prove difficult.

Wait, you want it to work, get you up there without incident, and then let you off???!

Funny... I never figured you for being such an entitled millennial.

Oh I know. Not worried about it though, just doing the best I can over here. I just try to handle what I can and let the rest work itself out.

No idea what you're talking about with black though. They put the unloading station away for the summer- right next to the moguls, maaaaaan. They just take it back out when it gets cold enough.

Seems like they have everything under control then. If the lift inspector says it's ready, who am I to argue?

I might stick with red. That unloading station looks a bit more permanent and has a few electric wires running into the lift house.

I'm guessing the black unloading station is the same as it's always been? I always felt they should have done more to create an actual unloading zone on Black as it regularly seemed kids were in danger of getting nailed by the chair they had just gotten off of (very little slope where you unloaded). I know it's probably difficult with the westside trail crossing over there, but I would think some real ramp would be a good idea.

And I'm not really worried about the place not opening as scheduled (how they do it could be a shitshow, but I do believe all the preparation is not to not open). Buy MMP a pair of binoculars so he can clearly see me flipping him off from the Red Chair while he's on the Stratton Mountain Ejaculator.

OK, I laughed...a couple of times. Even though we all love MMP like a stepbrother.

This crosses the line for me.

I've spent 8 days up on the hill s that so far this summer/fall. 7 of those days were improving things that are on the map or so well-known they might as well be.

I know you're trying to be funny but some of us just give a shit about this place and for that minority, this is uncalled for. I take newbies to the good stuff all the time. DoWork, Rusty, and the rest do the same. But this one is so far outside the boundaries that we wouldn't take anybody there that we don't know because there ain't no ski patrol to come get you if you beater it.

On the topic of the black chair, my "favorite" thing about that chair is that the summit counterweight isn't big enough. Rather than actually fix it they just threw a bunch of crap that was floating around on it.

Well no need to be upset, you all can keep it a secret. I'm not interested in 200' long tree trails I have to bushwhack into, I have plenty by my house. I'm too lazy.

Just figured out Benny's animus toward Magic--regular chairlift ramps are tough enough on him, let alone the advanced beginner variety at Magic.

At least the highly imaginative comedy writers here are off that pizza and short ski thing.

Enjoy your crappy little hill this winter folks, I'll be out where there's real snow on real mountains. Hope you only get, like, three rainstorms before April.

There's only 4 lift serve areas worth skiing in Colorado Benjamin. Raise your cred, ski one of them.
