Do it before drying. Spin out the excess water, then dry the buds... I dunno, just trying to come up w/a solution.

Dude. Getting an MMJ card in DC is next to impossible. You literally need to have an AIDS or Cancer diagnosis. Even so, with the new rules regarding sharing, the lone dispensary we have is running out of product. I'm trying to find someone who gardens for fun to grow my 6 plants for me.

That said once the product ends up in the District (legally or not) you can share up to an ounce at a time, so it's not all that hard to find and hopefully as more people grow it'll get even easier. I have a decent connection for vape carts if you're interested.

Mmmm...you want I should fuck your woman for you while I'm at it?

Srsly, in places where it's not acceptable to crop buds, like every place where it's not legal, dope growers are furtive and feral, and paranoid to the max of rippers and pigs. On top of all that, they're sitting around all day every day smoking the top of the crop, or even worse, early buds, which turns them into swivel-eyed lotus eaters...

So, anyone you would trust to grow dope for you is not to be trusted, because if you know she grows dope, that's one too many and probably indicative of a general pattern.

You definitely don't want your girl to know you grow dope - 8/10 she'll rat you out the first time you piss her off. If not, she'll blackmail you.
You don't want your family or friends to know either. They'll fuck up and give you away to rippers or cops, intentionally or no.
If you do it for a while, it's easy to get lax. That's when Charlie comes in the night...

You've got a strangely paranoid perspective...

Anyway, to soak or not to soak is a moot point with 12 hours of rain so far and at least another 12 hours on the way, followed by an 80deg day tomorrow.

    Nah...

What's stressful about having your plants stolen? Or wrecked by bears? Or burned up in a fire? Or covered in ash and spot? Or get bugs or mold or mildew?

    It's all good.

Got a 1k mh hung in the middle, to fill out the spectrum. I've got it running at 100%, and temp is 81. Might back it down to 750, if it goes much higher.

EDIT: Temps have settled at 79. Happy camper. Once my Gorilla Glue #4 clones are ready, I am going to set another one up just like it.

Any way you can raise those heavy cans up above the lights? Then you could intake down low, move fresh dry air bottom-up through the canopy, and exhaust the warmest & most moisture-laden air off the top. Prob not an issue now as much as when the buds get thick and you need low humidity.
See what I'm getting at? The tent might not be made to take all that weight though...

It was a good day for cannabis in OR. Combusted my legally grown C99 on the drive to my consulting gig. Vaped GSC to keep the buzz at appropriate level. Left at noon for meeting with High Desert Pure, who does CO2 extraction in the area. I'm now part of HDP's test monkey team - a dirty thankless job, that I do for science.

Cart on left is their Induhca blend. Fuckin' tasty and REALLY chillaxin. Coming soon to many outlets in Deschutes County

Did have to buy a new pen though. Even has a touch screen stylus on one end - perfect for night-time TGRin'

And because I'm a old school combuster at heart, I picked up an eighth of Mango Kush for $7/gram at Dr Jolley's in Bend. Well-cured & nice tasting.

    Nice work.

Highangle: The tent wont support that kind of weight. Those filters are pretty heavy. My temp dropped another degree and RH is 56% I believe, and my sensor is high in the tent.

Cloned some Casey Jones. Getting the next tent staged up.

Closing on a new property within the week. It's on.

I clone in a rapid rooter tray with a dome, I use rootech cloning gel, and water with a little H3ad right off the bat.

Haven't had a chance to set up my grow yet so I'm still running the greenhouse. Thinking of getting a couple lights for it and a heater for a few clones we just transplanted.

    Opinions?

I like to clone in coco in plastic drink cups, with clear plastic cups as domes. Clonex gel, then straight into a little toothpick hole in GH coco fairly damp with 1/2 H3ad @ ph 6ish, then mist with water and put on clear cup domes. Near 100% success after a week under any old florescent lights 24/7, 70-80 degree enviro. Leave a little room to add more coco once they become established. Up the H3ad to full @ 5.7 with full light.

No place you can gro inside?
Think about a digital ballast made to run 2x600w hps. Most will be fine to run one light, or both at a time. Max flexibility, and enough size to grow a pound or two at a whack. Hortilux or Ushio bulbs, but some say just use whatever HPS is cheapest.

    http://stores.ebay.com/thehydroponicsource/#

You might think about growing "vertical", with bare bulbs and a Honeywell fan on the floor blowing up to cool the bulb. That way, your bulb will help heat the space.
Picture warm column of air carrying heat off the bulb, striking the ceiling, and rolling down the walls to mix with cooler air below.
Metal Halide makes more heat than HPS, but at the end of the day doesn't grow as much bud/watt.

Root temps need to be between 60-68f. This may entail getting them off the floor. Room needs to be 70-78 @ 50% RH or less when budding, because mold.

You can use CO2 generators for the heat, but you don't want CO2 when lights out. You also don't want a light source in the room when lights out. You may need some sort of expensive forced air ducted into the gro, or create an insulated loop from/to the house air you're already paying to heat.

OK, but in DC it's legal. You're allowed to grow your own weed, with 6 plants (of which only 3 may be mature at any time.) We just have no way of buying pot legally. You're allowed to have 2 oz. on your person and can give 1oz/person away. There is no time frame for the latter. I could conceivably walk down Constitution Ave. with 2 oz. of weed in my pocket, meet a male friend and give them one ounce, then later meet a female friend and give them the other ounce.

Time for a courrier start up in DC.

BD/grow gurus- you guys generally recommend grow tents over the full stealth cabinet packages? Curious how people like Tipp can best get a few plants running. Ive looked at the kits and am guessing you guys see them as overpriced, but Im thinking many people would be happy to pay a premium for an easy setup. Maybe a small tent +the h3ad method? Quarter of a bedroom like 4x4 or something is what I imagine.

Nice work on the grows, full on pron thread

I've got some pics of 2x4 tent, in a closet, that I set up for a friend.

He was getting 3-4 every time with a 600.

Anyone ever have problems with CO2 cartridges? I recently picked one up and it will not hit. I've tried it on various batteries and settings to no avail. Made by Double delicious. Of course I don't have my receipt...$40 dud.

Cart problems are relatively common. See the "What are you baking/vaping" thread for all of your cartridge troubleshooting needs.

Word - if it is disposable cart, it is either fouled airway from leaking through bottom seal, could be a thin film of oil that leaked out and keeps juice from element, but most likely if airway not fouled - bad element. On disposable carts that thing is pretty fragile. Heat it up with blow dryer and see if that shakes things loose and fires up. If all else fails, heat up to thin out and extract to another cart via syringe.

First thing the baker taught me was to tear one of those things apart to understand the parts, and never use over 650 mah batt or you will cook element on disp carts.

I've used a pretty wide range of disposal carts with my 1650 mah batt and haven't cooked an element yet, knock on wood. It does have adjustable power settings, and I usually use 3.3v or 3.8v. Adjustable power is more important than mah, I believe, but the baker is pretty knowledgeable.

Thanks for the tips! It draws fine, but no ignition, so I'm thinking it's a bad element.

Best bet if you can source quality erl is to fill your own better er cart, atomizer or just bake it off coil.

Grampules are the way of the future unless they perfect the disposable cart system.
