Not sure if you've ever watched an episode of Columbo or not but all that sounds reasonable. I don't know enough about the '06 USA GP but doesn't the article's comparison to that case make it sound like Pirelli knew why Rosberg's RR went. They must have been holding their breath. It was exciting and I feel a little cheated. I still cannot get over Hamilton's dominance in sector two where the real left turn loading is.

Not sure if Monza (although a high speed track) has anywhere near the loading of the non-dominant rear tire. Maybe why Pirelli seems so confident. It is expected that the conclusions from there investgation will be revealed this weekend.

Saw a photo of Vettel's Ferarri today from Spa after he'd lost his right rear. The remaining tires looked horrendous. It is a testament to how good Vettel is that he could keep his lap times so consistent given the degradation of his tires especially in this day and age of degradation as part of the show.

His right front looked especially bad.

Nice showing this morning by the boys from Maranello, hoping they get a great start tomorrow. Go Iceman!

Seems to be no concrete answer for the tire failures. Pirelli suggesting increased pressure and less camber, [rolls eyes]

Tyre drama again. Bridgestone helping Schumacher back in the day is case in point for not having tires be the war......love the equal game.......Pirelli should be out.

Loved the last laps drama of "PUSH PUSH PUSH don't ask" at the end. Nice to see Massa on the podium after Rosbergs' ride went up in flames. Kimi not quite getting the start. oh well.

So I'm eavesdropping on a conversation between a guy that I work with who knows a heck of alot about cars and a guy that I've known for ten years at least. Ten year guy says to knowledgable guy, "you know my nephew says that formula one technology from red bull has trickled in to my infinity g37x and he is a formula one driver."

My ears prick up but you all know how much tact I have. Of course I'm thinking that you just said your nephew is a formula one driver and that Infinity cars are driving around with formula one technology.

Turns out that his nephew is a now a formula one driver and an American at that. As far as Infinity using formula one technology in their road cars I think I would still call bs on that. But go Alexander Rossi!

F1 cars use four wheels, g37x uses four wheels

F1 has paddle shifters, g37x has paddle shifters.

    Stuff like that.

Wish I knew more about the g37x. Course we had a first birthday at my house a couple weekends ago. I said to my neice "That's your hyundai out there?" She's like yeah, "but it does not hold up to my old integra." I'm like ,"what year integra!?" "1991". So I'm remembering the formula one/integra ads from the day. Meanwhile there is a 1991 nsx sitting in my driveway!

Not completely out of the scope of reality given the fact that the current team is "Infiniti Red Bull Racing". When Vettel won his four championships he was with Red Bull-Renault. Renault has been is a partnership with Nissan since the end of the 90s as well.

Infiniti has drive by wire, just like F1 [and the Cummins turbo diesel in my Ram].

    formula 1 maggots

A few things stood out from the first video. The displacement of the engines was crazy as were the crappy wheels and roads plus the fact that they were going 90 miles an hour.

Aston Martin has confirmed that its name is returning to Formula 1 this season, having agreed a technology partnership with Red Bull.

As reported earlier by Motorsport.com, the British sportscar manufacturer has ended months of speculation about a potential involvement in grand prix racing by securing a deal with Red Bull to become an innovation partner.

The agreement will see the Red Bull RB12 carry the Aston Martin logo in the upcoming campaign.

"This is a very exciting project for everyone at Red Bull Racing," said Red Bull boss Christian Horner. "Through this innovation partnership, the iconic Aston Martin logo will return to grand prix racing for the first time since 1960."

Aston Martin had originally been linked to the Milton Keynes-based team last July as part of a wider plan that may have involved Mercedes engines.

But with Red Bull's hopes of pulling off a Mercedes switch having failed, the talks faded away and instead Aston Martin focused its efforts on Force India.

Those plans – which may have involved a sponsorship partnership with Johnnie Walker – did not come to fruition.

However, on the eve of the 2016 season, Aston Martin announced that a wider partnership had been agreed with Red Bull.

This will involve collaboration between Red Bull and Aston Martin chiefs to create an Adrian Newey-penned 'hyper-car' - the AM-RB 001, described as "a fusion of art and technology".

"It’s an incredible project and also realises a dream and vision long held by Adrian to design a road car," Horner added. "We are very much looking forward to what I’m certain will be a successful partnership."

What does this bring to F1 besides a decal and lots of money? Are they building a chassie? New engine? James Bond razor wheel lugs? No point having an ejector seat in a single seater.

translation is "we tried to pay for advertising on the Force India car but it didn't work out so we are paying to put our sticker on the Redbull car instead".

Aston Martin and Mercedes have a road car engine deal going already.. Aston badged Merc PU in Red Bull next year?..

Sounds as if they ran away very quickly from Force India.. Vijay Mallya is going to be very lucky to stay out of jail this year.. let alone still run an F1 team.

Watching the race was exciting. If I had DVRed it I might not have watched had I seen the usual Merc 1,2 Ferrari 3 results beforehand. Kimi just seems to have rotten luck.
