And to think, my buddy bought his homebrew kegs from the Foleys, not but 2 years ago.
welp, I got to drink/sample somewheres around 30-40 brews last week up in portland me. novare res ended up being a few hundred feet from the hotel, so I paid my dues there. definitely hip but im hip so it was cool. brews that I enjoyed mostest (not all local):
sculpin
calcutta cutter
rising tide Ishmael
rising tide day mark am pale ale
baxter stowaway IPA
ME beer MO
ME beer peeper
i enjoyed portland a lot; seems like a fun place to live. I definitely want to get through the rest of maine beer co's lineup in the future, stuff was titties with fizz.
Japanese ipa a collaboration from Stone, Guam’s Ishii Brewing Co, and Japan’s Baird Brewing Company. Definitely a tasty beer.
I've gotten to the point that there are just so many good IPAs. Every other week I'm finding a new one that I really enjoy. Interesting where this all ends up in 5-10 yrs. Not sure it sustainable at the current growth rate.

Your current beer of choice has a canning tomorrow. If the line is manageable your fridge will be stoked...but the potential of a pow morning might divert my attention.
Took a little beer run. Some IPA's in there....

Took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to change this shit

powdork.com - new and improved, with 20% more dork.
Ha I got Vets buzzed hard off 1 hop hunter from Sierra yesterday. Good thing Michelle was there to drive.
Visiting Berkeley and SF this weekend. Kicked it off with a Ballast Pt session can, then headed out and found a Faction IPA. That was light and delicious. We stopped at Fieldwork(?) Brewing on the way home and got a growler of Sea Farmer IPA, brewed with grapefruit and sea salt. Amazing. Tiny little hit of salt at the back of the palette.
I've really been enjoying the Sculpin Grapefruit lately. Have been drinking it next to the regular Sculpin (both on draft) and grapefruit gets the nod.
Finally got to try some Heady Topper and it didn't disappoint. The only DIPA I've had that beats out Heady would be Hop Chops from Comrade Brewing. Comrade's regular IPA is also very good - a clone of La Cumbre's Elevated (tried them side-by-side to verify).
People are still suspicious of non-refrigerated IPAs, right? My Total Wine has some Knee Deep Simtra that I'd really like to try, but it's not refrigerated, so I'm thinking it will have lost some taste. Thoughts?
Try it. There is so much mis-handled IPA out there you might not even notice. It's good.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Melvin Brewing in Jackson has tweaked the multiple gold medal winning '2x4' making 'The Drunken Master' double IPA coming at 9.5% & something like 95 IBUs. It has a smother finish the the already
delightful '2x4'. That beer will be at
GABF this fall.
Always charging it in honor of Flyin' Ryan Hawks.
