You know, I get most people have favorite terrain they enjoy sliding down but I don't understand the hatred for places they don't personally like. I thought the idea was to get as many enjoyable days on snow as possible wherever possible. I love any place I can ski at which would normally be a day at work. I would love to ski at xhill every day out but if yhill is where I can go, then I will make the most out of it. Most of my decisions are based on where I can get good terrain and lessons for the groms while satiating my need to strap to sticks to my feet and letting gravity take over! Are there places I would rather be at, absolutely, but I'm not a dentite and have limited resources for recreational activities so I make do. There, rant over, soap box away.
Why don't you go practice fallin' down? I'll be there in a minute.
^ This. I live in a place where the hills are pretty small but we ski anyway because it is what we do and we are here. We ride slow chairlifts up 300 feet of vertical and have the time of our lives sliding down. We skin up 200 feet and snake knee-deep powder turns in untracked glades, whooping it up as stoke-filled as any brohbrah out in western Wallyworld. Like a fool, I buy a seasons pass for Jay Peak and drive 7.5 hours to ski there because I love it. I have skied at both Wildcat and Attitash only once, they were two of the best ski days of my life. I don't get the hate and sure as hell don't need it.

Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey

It snowed.
Here I thought Okemo was the home mountain of dockers and tucked in tshirts.
Wildcat is making a run at that title now that they have a real snow making system. Peak R is out to attract a whole new clientele. If it means more people on the groomers and less in the woods, Im all for it. Kinda regretting not getting a pass there this year. Guess Ill just have to wait and get a pass in the spring for next year.
Last model run for the weekend has me crying in my milk. Hopefully its just a one run deviation.

^^^ BOOM
Yeah, it varies depending in the bed you're getting, the fitter, etc. I'm no expert, but I've had it done twice now. First was several years ago in CO, cost me something around $140 after talking my way into a discount (Superfeet Kork). Bill @ GMO I think charged $215 for the footbeds themselves, plus fee for evaluation of foot/boot fit. Everything else after that is a la carte, but he told me honestly that footbeds were all I needed.
I'm looking at both and I can see now that Bill's appear to be much more anatomically specific and carefully made, whereas the Korks have a deeper heel pocket. It really depends on the hands of the fitter it seems (obviously)...

Poll question.
Did Rog expend more energy:
A) Getting himself banned from a largely unmoderated message board
or
B) Trying to get himself back in the mix on aforementioned board using "clever" pseudonyms?
Meh.
Getting colder around here, keeping busy in the garage to make sure the house I am building doesn't freeze. Lynchy, you get that boiler replaced?
