Actually lol. Schralph got a new car, so he is all incognito these days. When you drive by him, he looks like a respectable professional.

Let us know if you are coming up Alex. Driver and I have been hatching variations on a theme. But when you said the C word, I started to think different aspects may want to be schussed.

Aspect choice will be key... Doesn't look like it will get too hot today and hopefully a bit of cloud cover stays aloft.

It was pretty fun inbounds @ kirkwood today. All the way, the butress, & fawn ridge were loading with some wind transported snow. Everything that wasnt wind loaded was a 1/2" crust layer over the heavy wet snow from Tue. Once things got cut up a little more in the mid day it skied a better. Cali chutes area looked primo but i`m sure the snow is variable.

Anyone got a line on discounted red vinyl-wrap for a car door?

I sold my sticker box to a friend who has an almost identical two-tone green-gray Impreza wagon (but with no red door). If you see his car at the resort or trailhead, make sure to write "Alex hearts cock" in his dirty windows.

I think I am going to ski CPSSR on Saturday and work on Sunday. I think the original route I described could be good - we might get an all day window with a hard freeze tonight and light south winds forecasted for tomorrow. Although, mini-AK-face could be glassy rain crust that may not let go, even in high 40 degree temps.

I'll be at KW on Sunday with my 10am-2pm window if anyone wants to ride lifts and complain about the conditions. Monday, I'll be riding Sugar Bowl. Transmission over.

Hmm... UCL and I were discussing SB-->Squaw, but we'd be hitting the area between Tinker's and Mountain Meadow Lake (SW aspect) pretty late in the day.

Thanks Ottime and Schralph. I'll check out Freshies next time. I won't have a car this time and will be limited places walkable from lower gondola area.

Wow, so I guess KSL reached a deal with Sugar Bowl. Anybody see this coming?

    This in my email:

We're excited to have you among the very first to know that we've added Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge as season pass partners for the 2014-15 winter season. That means that next season you could have a pass that gives you Tahoe access to:

    • Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows
    • Sierra-at-Tahoe
    • Sugar Bowl
    • Royal Gorge
    • 9,650 acres
    • 69 lifts
    • 419 runs
    • 13 Peaks
    • 200 km/124 miles of cross country trails on 7,500 acres at North America's largest cross country resort

And that doesn't even count access to the Mountain Collective resorts Alta, Snowbird, Aspen, Snowmass, Jackson Hole, Mammoth Mountain, and Whistler Blackcomb. Specific details will be announced soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime we hope you can get out there and enjoy using your current season pass.

Yeah, thats what I thought, but its just four tickets for gold pass holders. Imagine that first rainy day of the season next year, where everyone heads to Sugar Bowl to avoid the rain...

So the question is... if I defect to The Bowl, do I get a few days free at Squalpine?

Still not happy about this development though...

    Yup. From Sugar Bowl:

Great news for Sugar Bowl season passholders! Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are our newest season pass partners for the 2014-15 winter season, which means Sugar Bowl passholders now have access to:

    • Sugar Bowl
    • Royal Gorge XC
    • Squaw Valley
    • Alpine Meadows
    • Sun Valley Resort in Idaho
    • Grand Targhee in Wyoming
    • 12,306 acres
    • 80 lifts
    • 548 runs
    • Some of the most legendary, vast & varied terrain in all of Tahoe

Sugar Bowl’s Unrestricted Season Passholders will receive four free tickets to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows next season, which can be used Sunday-Friday on any non-holiday dates. Sugar Bowl’s Slightly Restricted Season Passholders will receive three free tickets, while Summit Sunday and Midweek Season Passholders will receive two free tickets, all subject to the same restrictions. Squaw Valley’s Gold Season Passholders will receive four free lift tickets to Sugar Bowl/Royal Gorge XC, while Silver Passholders will receive two free tickets. All tickets will be redeemable Sunday-Friday and subject to holiday blackouts. If tickets are used at Royal Gorge, North America’s largest cross country ski resort, XC ski rental equipment will be included free of charge.

So does this mean Sugar bowl is no longer California owned and operated? Does KLS own the Bowl now? WTF!

No. It's just for pass purposes. KSL doesn't own Sierra-at-Tahoe. Nor do they own the other Mountain Collective resorts.

Yes, a few tickets. Why not happy? I will admit, this lessens the odds of me ditching Squawlpine for SB. Smart move for KSL, maybe not so smart for Sugar Bowl... unless they think people who haven't been there in a long time will enjoy the experience and defect the following season, which is possible.
