Took these on a work trip to San Diego a couple days ago (forgive the 737 window clarity, I think they're cool anyway):
St Helens:
Hood:
Jefferson:
Three Sisters:
Volcanoes are fuckin cool.
Wifey and I are likely headed to the Nisq chutes again tomorrow. We'd love to shred if anyone's headed that way. I'll be in a green/white KGLT hat.
Got some June-uary corn at Rainier today, can't complain too much

Cool pics from the plane. I was one of the 35-40 others skiing the chutes today (along with Phill and Kire), looked but didn't spot your hat. Chutes were decent at 12:30 and great a little later in the afternoon. Fun day and I can't believe how many people are skiing that line now. Fortunately there are plenty of options other than the main chute.
We were on the very late side, skiing at 4pm... sorry to miss you.
Did your party put in the skin track up the looker's right chute? Definitely been a popular spot this month.

That's called gettin' it!
Stevens skied well today. Hit crust a few times under hogs, but backside was great along with tye bowl. Untracked lines until about 3 when my legs were falling off. A bit wet down low, but super fun. It was snowing pretty much all day as well. NO one was up there.
Upper lot at 910
Sorry no pow porn shots
Looks like Hyak opens for the first time this Saturday!
Sorry. This season has put me in premature posting mode. Or maybe it's just age and lack of fitness....
hard to call it premature when it's on the official Summit intertoobes:

And I have family commitments Saturday. Hoping to drop the clan off at West and hightail it over to Alpental for some pre-game laps under the padded chairs Sunday. Or, dare we dream, through the gates?
I don't venture out the gates until there's at least 60" at the bottom. I've prematurely elevatored before with very tense results. Speaking of gates, what's up with the one skier's left at the top of Sessel? Are they they finally gonna recognize that as a legit entry point for returning to Lot 4?
Great northwest weekend of bikes, skiing, and beers for the supercup

Heading to Baker early next week (10-12), where's a good budget place to stay? Glacier Creek Motel is close, but wondering if staying in Sumas at the B&B Inn might be cheaper although an hour away... Any other tips re lodging/lift tickets would be great!
Thanks.
Beautiful view from the top of stevens today but it was a cold one with lower than -5 F temps and wind chills of -22F. Turned in early when a liftie pointed out frostbite on my face. Good thing I did because there were some serious purple/black spots on both feet. I'm going to stay warm tomorrow and hopefully get out for the storm this weekend.
So with 15" of cold smoke at Mission Ridge since Monday morning me and two of my regular partners took the walk out to Bowl 4 for some nice 2000' knee deep pow runs. Best turns of the season agreed all around. We took three runs all untracked, the only other folks ambitious enough to venture out that way were patrol and a hapless snowboarder. Good times.
Coverage is okay. It's always rocky here even in the best of years. The snow has been great for the last few weeks with constant refresh, low traffic and cold temps.
Best to know where you're going or go with someone who does if venturing off piste and hitting the hike to terrain.
Honestly, I've been skiing nothing but powder and old, recycled pow for the last two weeks.
