Nice shots! When were these taken? I'm thinking about doing a Hidden Lake lookout trip next week and am craving some corn

On a more depressing, or encouraging note, I see on Instagram they've busted out the snowguns at Central.

For those who have not yet heard the sad news: Franklin B died this weekend climbing in the Monte Cristo range. RIP to a good man, fellow skier/ski tourist, mountain lover, friend.

He had a few phenomenal TRs on Turns all year and looked like a great person. I'm sorry that it takes someone dying to really notice their contributions. RIP.

    Sadly this extends beyond skiing.
Sorry for your loss Steve. Any details on what happened?

Good to see somebody gettin' it.

No doubt that some of you ran into Franklin (fwb on TAY) in the mountains. He spent lots of time up there. Fastest to climb all of WA's highest 100 summits, long-time ski instructor at Stevens, excellent skier, strong aerobic athlete, solid good guy. Here's a link to his climbing partner's account of his final moments: http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8009161

    No way, man.

Just the 200ft back to Glacier Vista after traversing outta the chutes. Bootpack was already there, plus we had to hurry to escape the parking lot, else get locked in at Longmire.

Sorry just spent my last $75 on a Arcteryx backpack. So if you see a guy at schweitzer with a wool red and black lumberjack Biggie Smalls jacket with a supper kitted out backpack full of things like granola bars, Rainer beer, big boss cigars, pine tar, duct tape, and bailing wire, put your hands up high and your knees down low, we will ski some sick black diamonds. shine bright like a diamond, ohh, ohh, shine bright like a diamond.

BTW good luck digital bad breath.

Actually, yes. The last time I was at the Spokane airport, I saw a couple walking hand in hand with matching swastika tee shirts.

    Touring tomorrow

Any seattle area mags want to go soak up the sun tomorrow. The resorts are going to be an ungodly shitshow and I'm dying to ski.

What are the usual suspects up to? Other than not posting on TGR anymore.

Interested in Paradise or maybe Cascade Pass (anyone heard of CRR conditions lately)? I'm not a big fan of the reward/drive ratio at Stevens.

BTW resorts weren't bad today, at least Alpental wasn't. No lines, fun sunny bumps.
