bmills- I was more aiming for other marques, but Porsche works too. there's a number of ferrari's out there that just aren't driven. sub Xk miles where X is number of years it's been in the wild. I mean, maybe I'm just a super-beater but it takes a couple hundred miles a to get basicly comfortable for me. the number of wrecked exotics with very low miles suggests it takes others a few miles to get comfortable too
I figured you were talking about those marques. You should see the resale market around here. Soooooo many Ferrari 360s and F430s for sale with <10K miles. Did they all go out and get 458s or something?

Guys, who gives a fuck what anyone drives or why. I have had P cars as my DAILY driver that I put over 200k miles on. They are not meant to be garage queen cars. You drive them and enjoy every minute of it. Money doesn't mean shit if you are not enjoying yourself. If someone wants to laugh at me over my choice of cars???? BFD.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Yeah, and its ALL bullshit. But bagging on ski ability and frequency is low hanging fruit for a ski board. Taking time out to rag on non-ski related choices takes a bit more effort.

There are some sweet late 90s and early 2000 Ferrari's out there in the $75K to $100K range with less then 20K miles on them. A 550 Maranello would be fun.

No, they got divorced and have to pay child support.

Question for the Poser Porschephiles: how do you heel-and-toe downshift if you are missing a toe?

Hey what'd I do? I didn't even post in this thread until now. We do have a Porsche though, a '96 993 cab. It's like a German car museum around here.

Walter Sobchak: You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.

    The Dude: Yeah, but Walter...

Walter Sobchak: Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish. These fucking amateurs...

Not a thing. Just using you as a way to point out how Steve, a person of staunch conviction in his views on the topic, would spew his generalities but not dare say the same about someone he knows.

It's really no big deal. Just highlighting how even the most opinionated posters have limits to their hyperbole.

That is why I love this place.....the questions that make me laugh. The answer is very carefully.

Probably. The ones intight with the dealer get the 458 new, flip it in 6-12 months for something newer, so the 2nd tier get the used 458 so they can actually get a Ferrari in under 3 years and take the big bath on depreciation to own a Ferrari, then some other schmuck buys it even later and nobody drives it to make sure it doesn't depreciate too badly and you make sure to spec it red w/shields and a tan or black interior to sell it quickly. "quality miles" are to a cars and coffee or the mall because you want to make sure it doesn't get dinged. It's exactly the same as a Camry, just more anxiety and more coffee clatch cache.

The 430 has a manifold issue, that costs about 10k to fix.

    360s just suck.

    Very funny Hugh.

I do love how many of them I see at the grocery store and I wonder where they're going to put their 5 reusable bags of fair trade quinoa while simultaneously trying to check for door dings because they just had to have that spot in front of the door, between the two shitboxes.

Owning a Ferrarri would like being a State Trooper in Rhode Island: very frustrating.

Bobby does have a point...he has owned one and you have not, so he does have a bit of experience with the specific model you mentioned.

    Also, his avatar is better...

I you buy a porsche, bmw, land rover, ferrari, ducati, etc for no other reason than the badge that's on it. You are a douche, bottom line. If you purchase a vehicle for the intangibles, for the way it drives, for the way it makes every mile enjoyable, then no matter what the make, you are not the douchie middle aged guy that gets laughed at. I never laugh at the driver of a nice car until I talk to him. When the guy knows nothing more than the brand and model of the car, I get a good chuckle as I walk away...
