Go Snedeker! Love his demeanor and pace of play. Would also like to see Tiger hunting tomorrow.

good comments a minute ago that Tiger is playing within the new rules of golf...
hmmm, it's kind of a tough one but by not discussing it at all with him before the end of the round/scorecard signing, I'd say they got it right.
... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...
Really?.....Gotta pull the race card here. Some people just can't stomach a black guy doing so well in life, and fucking an awesome looking blond at the same time.
No...he said " I dropped it 2 yards back because it would give me a better shot"A drop a few feet off, And one of the greatest golfers of all time is shit in some comments here.
He is still the greatest golfer of all time.
To Faldo's point.
Players are, and always have been, responsible for knowing the rules.
Officials are provided all over the course so that a player can ask about a rule should they be unsure.
The fact that Tiger broke the rule unintentionally is irrelevant. That was obvious when he said "I tried to improve my lie by droping the ball 2 yards back". It was unintentional because he mixed up 2 rules.
Tiger broke the rules.
Where else do the rules change because " I didn't do it on purpose"
I love Tiger and I'm glad he is still in it.
HAHAHAAH hear the guy yelling 'Redonkulous" all day?
I heard the redonkulous guy all day. It's more of a US Open thing, along with Mashed Potato, but whatever. I'm sure he can deal with all the ugly looks I'm sure he's getting.
Prop question for you guys saying Tiger is shit and it's not the job of a governing body to penalize people, of which I am kindofa fan of too, but it's not the world we live in today.
Anyone remember Whistling Straits...Dustin Johnson... the "bunker" with the fans standing in it... him grounding the club? Even after review he didn't feel like he broke the rules, even after admitting he grounded the club, but he didn't feel it was a bunker. Is he a piece of shit, moral free scumbag because he disagreed with the ruling? I disagreed with the ruling. It was a sandy patch outside of a natural bunker that looked mostly like ground under repair more than anything, but I felt that he should not have been assessed a penalty because he didn't think he broke the rules. So what should THEY have done? Give him the trophy because he didn't think he broke the rules?
My wallet and Nashville residence has me pulling for Sneds. Great putter. Cliche to say, but he was about 3 inches from shooting 4 shots lower.

If there is something that really bugs me about golf these days, is assholes shouting something right after a ball is struck. It all started with the "Get In The Hole" thing about a decade or so ago, and now it has evolved into other stupid blurts, like, of course, "baba booyee". I thought the cost of attending the Masters would weed out these assholes, but, it seems not. Tomorrow should be much worse. The dumbing down of America continues, at a rapid pace, still.
Guroo- ya that was a bullshit ruling, I agree with him and you. But that's totally different than deliberately improving your shot against the rules. Even unintentionally.
Benny I sure hope you are talking about folks outside the board...

On a side note, it's lame that Taylor Made/Adidas couldn't come up with more than one shirt for all their golfers to wear for the Masters, but I'm giving them a pass because it appears they've gotten away from, or perhaps the Masters requested they leave that Rocketballz-ier campaign at the door. Stupidest thing I've ever seen.
On another side note, it's the 2nd and 3rd nice day in Nashville all year, and I just bought a motorcycle, got fresh tires and a service done Friday and I'm sitting inside watching this tournament. I mean, watching online from the get go, for 7 straight hours. WTF is wrong with me?

With the Tiger ruling, the process is questionable, but the result is he made a snowman where he should have made 4, at worst 5. I think justice was served. My question is, how would he identify his actual line of entry? What would be precise about that? He has no idea, his playing partners have no idea, what does he do? Ask the crowd? How would he not be two yards left or right of the actual entry point? We all know he would never play the CORRECT line of entry, because it would put him on the bridge or in the trees or something but it's an interesting question nonetheless. The other thing is the "as near as possible" thing needs to be cleared up for future rulings. What do you mean as near as possible? That means attempting to drop it in the divot. Fuck that. Not one player does that, so you could say that every player in the history of the game has cheated on their "as close as possible" drops. The rule should read "within one club-length no closer to the hole."
And another thing. Jason "All" Day needs a stroke penalty slapped on his ass. To be a full hole behind playing with Freddy, who takes about 2 seconds to play a shot, is inexcusable.
Well he has to close his eyes and visualize his practice swings, then his shot, before he practice swings and hits his shot. I agree. Not rooting for that guy.
On the how would he know? If you don't know, you should ask one of the officials or at least your playing partner, and the two of you come to an agreement on point of entry.

Day and Kuchar mañana? Could be interesting. Always enjoyed Cabrera, didn't he used to smoke his way around the course?

Please not Angel....dude smokes as he plays for gods sake. Sned if Fred and Tiger don't win.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Hogan used to enjoy a cheeky puff as he played. Would you have not favored him in his heyday? If so, please DQ yourself from this thread and visit the "ERMAGHERD! 3rd hand smoke and babies" thread instead.
I'll give Cabrera credit. He bombs it and plays fast and carefree. "I like you Spaniard (Argentine). I shall cheer for you."
Me too. Always awesome to see a 50something do well -- remember when Nicklaus made a run late in his career?
Who -- Wingnut? Thought he shat the bed on 18... nice save.
Unintentionally deliberate. Golf is confusing.
Nick Price smoked a shitload of cigarettes and drank hard after every round. I LOVED that guy.
Yeah. They will. Kinda like Hootie asking Tiger to fetch him a glass of water (before they went on-air from the cabin) after he won his first green jacket.
The thought of some wingnut watching the Masters on TV calling in on rules infractions cracks me up. "Uh... hello? Is this the Masters? Yeah, I done did see sumthin' on the TV that you gotta know about!" I wonder how many of these calls they get...
I was thinking the same thing... WTH some dude is calling in and reporting an error and that's enough to look back at replay and assess penalty shots? Weird. Think if that was allowed in other sports. Crazy. And with golf it seems completely unfair because it can only happen to the guys being shown in TV. Or even if it's a spectator at the event - Maybe it's just me but it seems very odd.
I had fun today watching the golf. I hope tomorrow will provide some drama coming down the stretch. I feel like an old man saying this, but good golf is great to watch.*
* I play golf
whatever I feel like i what to do!
I'm just here to say that the master.com web site is freakin' awesome. Check it. Video replays on a per player/per hole basis, great vid quality for my modest pipe here at home. Pic-in-pic for live coverage. I have yet to see another sight that's this snappy and well laid out.
Love Angel. Read his wiki bio. Crazy life, came from nothing. Love to see him win it.
So true Idiot. I made fun of my Bro in Law for years. Now im obsessed. The fact that I played 3 times a year for 20 years then last year I played almost 80 rounds prolly has something to do with it. Stoked for today.I had fun today watching the golf. I hope tomorrow will provide some drama coming down the stretch. I feel like an old man saying this, but good golf is great to watch.*
