Brian, hopefully not your ACL since you skied hard the rest of the day. Sorry to hear Bronic....vibes.

Did my ACL on same type of landing...Although I couldn't ski away from it. Technically speaking, you don't actually NEED your ACL to ski, but the way you ski...you defintely want it repaired. But yeah. Keep us posted.

There is no way I could have kept skiing after I tore mine - so hopefully yours isn't torn. For general/future reference, if you did do something to your knee, ACL or otherwise, you really shouldn't keep skiing on it - you can make a small problem much worse.

damn that sucks Lindahl...you won't know for sure until the MRI. Hopefully it is something minor and you'll be back at it. When my wife tore hers last year she couldn't ski away, lots of swelling, knee really unstable. vibes

Ya now I just get to watch the weather and be real butthurt. The cynical side of me wants it to be blue bird and 50 degrees and not snow again for the rest of the year cause I can't ski. But we need the moisture. Ill get over it. But my bike is looking pretty damn fun right now

Lindahl, I hope it’s nowhere near that serious, ACLs are rough.

If you really did tear it, maybe you could head over to Vail Valley for PT and cozy up with Lindsey. Swipe her right out of Tiger’s home wreckin’ arms.

Stone Creek skied very well Sat and heard it was good yesterday. LOTS of sun today so I'm sure it's baked now. Royal Elk continues to be awful.....thin isn't the right word.

The water as you left the Havana harbor was clear and blue. He was a fine fisherman. Nowadays they make tackle that allows anyone who can walk up a flight of stairs carrying a quart of milk, to land a 500 pound fish. But this was not the case in the good old days.

After the fishing we would drink rum and I remember him telling me that although you were only a baby he didnt have much hope for you. He expected you would pass your adult life working in either a chemical factory or a liquor store.

I am pleased to see you have exceeded his expectations.
ALIAS!!!!!! The REAL Ernest Hemingway would never misspell the word "dysentery" even if he was plastered. Yeah yeah, spelling police, but it's supposed to be a WRITER for shit's sake.

That stinks...I can't remember the last time I skied Royal Elk in good conditions. I love how last year they had a sign up top warning that you WILL fuck up your skis.
As for Vail, are the north facing aspects FUBAR after Sunday?

Vail is in pretty good shape, I doubt you could find any pow inbounds but N facing and shaded stuff is skiing fine still I'd guess. And that sign is still up at RE.

Quality stoke from a guy with a questionable ACL. I hope it isn't bad, buddy. Props for sticking it out and continuing to get after the fresh pow.

I have no idea what actually happened but my opinion is that some idiot probably tried to ski it because they saw it from inbounds, and they probably went out there without a beacon or probe or shovel and then skied the center line which is currently filled with facets and windfucked bullshit and set off an avalanche.

This was yesterday in Vail. Awesome day! https://vimeo.com/60536303

Most everything was soft thanks to the sunshine. It was still cold though so no major damage.

Yeah, I've seen some fucked up shit out there like a dad touron taking his 12 year old kid and his/her friends out there to ski the right side into the gut. All no gear, all no clue.

hehe, was that on a snowmobile, snowbike, snowboard, snowshoes, or skis? Couldn't tell. Just saw a virtual fly over of some wicked steep Vail terrain. Maybe it was one of those remote helicopter that you can mount a gopro on?

post link to video, wanna see that

I know it was low angle stuff but it was hella fun. I was on a pair of Rossignol S3's. No need for anything wider.

Currently snowing in Aspen. Didn't think it was supposed to start until later.

This is from last Thursday. A little steeper than Vail, but nothing special.
