I’m drinking the Kool Aid and becoming very bullish for Sunday AM. NW flow. Lots of moisture. Cold temps. Storm track looks like a direct strike. Soft base. Big accumulation potential across the board.
Vail and the ‘Boat could go off.

^^YOWZA!
^^^ I just couldn't believe that either when I read it this morning.
Guess you're talking about the Summit Daily? I didn't pick one up this morning. Just searched their website and there's an article but it's real short with no real info. - The tracks pretty much tell the story. Inbounds slide at A Basin on Saturday too. Report's up on the CAIC:

Be careful out there, folks.
seems like the line he skied after the slide went was stupid too, no? Like asking for more?
That shit cray. But I'm not understanding what the hell happened. Seems like this dude should have been toast. Did he not get carried? Did he stop at the crown, ski down the slide path and hike back up to ski the other line out? WTF.
Anybody admitting to being that guy? I would sure be interested in knowing what happened.
Lucky, lucky bastard. The route he takes back to the ridge below the rest of the hangfire is an interesting choice.Comments: It looks like the skier may have triggered it remotely on a kick turn near the ridge...then continued up to the top. Then skied down to the fracture line. The skier made about 7 turns on the bed surface, then cut hard right back out on the ridge and skies the southeast face.
Avalanche propagated widely in the bowl below the chute.
Dropping the same bowl that you just remotely triggered from above seems reasonable? Not like there was a ridgeline the person could've followed or anything.
Supposedly remotely triggered. Crazy shit, can't believe someone was out there.
I believe the HE was SHE
it seriously looks like she ski'd in the avy path after the slide over to that ridge then down.
holy shit what a fucktard
Did her boyfriend break it off and this was a suicide mission?
Did she send it switch to the road? Once Breck expands to Peak 1 this won't be an issue
ROLL TIDE ROLL
I understand that, but the only other option would be to ski it to the road on the bed surface, climb up to the crown/hangfire, or traverse (likely bootpack) the bed surface and GTFO. I'd say given her position, she chose correctly.
What would you have done if you were her (at that point in time)? This should be moved to the SZ.
Clouds building over the divide!
