the basin ski'd great today, just lapped pali to the powder keg/north chute area all day and had a blast.

turbo chutes looking like another good foot of snow will open em up, been waiting for the basin to start getting better, missed being able to just drink right next to the lift all day lol

Breck was fun today but extremely crowded... Every single lift. Got on the slopes right at 830 and lapped the t bar 5 times before the line got fucking humongous. Then headed over to 6 chair and took a few laps there before the line got big. Horseshoe bowl and contest were both in very good shape besides a few rocks. Lake chutes look thin as fuck. Peak 7 bowl looked like everything good had been blasted away so I didn't even try to go check it out....

Hearing you say that makes me feel a bit better about being puckered. That place has some of the best steeps I have seen inbounds I will have my eye out for the next big dump.

If you rip (see: can keep up), maybe try XtremeBoat? Not really active around here, so who knows if it'll pan out, but he's a chill dude that knows the mountain well and rips. jbski, him and I have skied quite a bit together in EV and Berthoud.

    Wow, sneaky pow day!

woke up to a skiff of snow on the porch so I made my wife breakfast and started doing stuff around the house. Decided to check the snow report and saw the 9" at Snowmass..... E/Ne was DEEP... up to 15" on the top of the mountain. The rest of it was in the 6-8" range depending. Very low moisture.

really a spring type pattern. Good snow and a cold front then a rapid warm up. Hope this week brings more of the goods, nice little pattern right now.

^definitely diggin' the pattern, mountain has been consistently fun lately.

Breck ski'd great in aspects in favor of the wind, whale's tail was way deeper than the 4" report but imperial bowl it was styrofoam but at least not icy. should be fun tomorrow as well.

From the NOAA forecast discussions, it sounds like the Wed/Thu storm is moving further south and the accumulations are decreasing each run... hopefully I'm missing something.

I'm hoping it's like last week when Vail reported 5" but it was more like 12-18" in the back.

Yeah, the Wed/Thu storm isn't as promising as it is moving a bit further south and east, though wrap-around snow is a tricky thing to predict. The Saturday night / Sunday storm is looking good!

Joel- it doesn't look like NOAA is as bullish for the next storm:

THIS SYSTEM WILL BE VERY SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS ONE THROUGH PRECIP AMOUNTS
LOOK TO BE ON THE LIGHTER SIDE. FORECAST CONFIDENCE REMAINS HIGH
THROUGH LONG TERM AS EC AND GFS AGREE THROUGH WEDNESDAY THOUGH
SOME MINOR TIMING ISSUES ARE APPARENT.

Same deal in Aspen, NOAA forecast says 5-11 in town today through tomorrow which for them is a lot
