Lucky bastards. Lake Louise is soaked and flooding. tent campgrounds evacuated and the trailer one is missing a road. Water is about 4 feet away from the laggans deli as well. Supposed to get another 80mm by tonight plus whatever melts

So what's it doing up high?...pissing rain in town here too but snowing at treeline. I will probably head up to ski some where tommorrow. Snowing at treeline here is great news....should be the same for Louise area I would think? June freshies woooooot.

Not to sure what its doing up high, was just at the base of the ski hill and its pissing rain there. About to drive up the parkway for a bit of a relaxation sesh. I'll get some beta. I'd be keen to rip some laps tomorrow if theirs freshies so I wouldn't need no stinkin crampons.Nobody in Banff has any that will fit skiboots unfortunately.

They've made (twice) the worst coffee i've ever had in the Bow Valley, the first time I assumed might have been a once off, I was wrong. Haven't braved it again since, so who knows it might have improved...

Bit of earth movement in the Sunshine carpark last night too:

Laggans used to be good. It's turned in to shit...gotta keep pumping crap in to the tourists. Trailhead is 10x better.

Only thing I've ever really had at laggans are the brownies and the sausage rolls. The fact that its like 10bucks for anything is pretty discouraging. Rivers supposed to peak at 2 tonight. We will see if the sand bags by the post hotel hold up or else I'll be swimming for all the wine bottles.

Some good snow above 2400m. Unfortunatly the skiing has something to be desired as there was zero freeze up to there at least. Moist slush under the new stuff. The high north faces are probably pretty wintery again if you have the mental fortitude to get though the major suckage below.... might be worth heading up if we get a good freeze after this precip. Raining again in Banff, glad to get some turns in between the gaps. Hopefully this falls as snow overnight. After Lseed was on the 93 the snowline dropped to highway the previous night and was wintery looking there yesterday. Highway snow up to treeline was melted out today but holding nice above.

Also, use caution and make lots of noise if heading out on any trails around Banff. Tons of bear activity around. Today was my 16th bear in the past 2 weeks.

Well I guess that answered the old question of whether a bear shits in the woods. :P

The only ones I didn't get shots of were the mother black and cubs while biking. She was watching me a little to close and I just wanted to get the fuck out.

Still tons of snow up there. Freeze has remained virtually non existent near and couple hundred above treeline. Just enough fresh to carry weight on skis. Foot pen to ground through moist slush = nothing big or steep. Skiing in a bit of a drizzle reminds me of learning to ski on the North Shore mountains of Vancouver. Decent skiing and should be awesome once (if) we ever get a melt freeze again. Been doing some stuff loner style but finally got a couple victims to take pics of.

Saw a moose swim across the reservoir just south of Mica Village today. It made good time too. Bit too cold for me!

I don't think anyone acknowledged the awesomeness of this post. Well done. Time to call in those beers from T2C.
