....a pic of Sentinel eating shit in the heinous breakable crust in Purple Bowl from yesterday.

    _______________________________________

Went to give Aemmers a go today. Was at the base of the couloir shortly before 8am. Really fantastic freeze last night. Snow carried all the way back to the car. Unfortunately the heat was on really freaking early playing havoc with the steep unsupported stuff ...pulled the pin while booting up the fan due to the beginning of stuff starting to sluff etc. Went up Little Temple instead to at least get something done. Right at the time we would have been in the choke our line was freight trained by several releases. All of them were feeding off to the side at the bottom over the kill cliffs. Had we not turned around we would have been totally fucked. Yeah yeah...it's not gnar turning around according to some idiots out there and no one seems to like posting attempts that don't go but they can fuck their ego for all I care.

Today was the first truely warm day since the last snowfall. Yesterday and day before were bluebird but the wind was cold and howling keeping things cooler I suppose.

Approaching the couloir before pulling the pin (part of Little Temple in the back...

    Got something done at least

    Looking over to Aemmers

Another stellar day albeit fucking warm

Paradise Valley was alive all morning with snow moving off of unsupported terrain. Loud place today.

Hey 2stix...don't think I ever answere you regarding the video. It's getting redone, I don't like it in it's current state. It's on the to do at work list along with all my other video so it's not going to be any time soon.

Skied Louise today, what an amazing day! The backside is in superb shape, I did not hit a single rock (which almost never happens for me at Louise). ER5 was open, conditions and coverage were money! I have a free day on my Sunshine card that I thought I'd use this week, but I had such a good day today that I just might call my season done so I can end it on a really high note. If anyone is on the fence about going on Sunday, I would urge you to go.

A big thanks to Charlie Lock for giving us this bonus weekend!

Skiied Patterson on Friday and only had a partial melt for the decent. We walked a total of about 100meters on the approach but there will not be much snow down low for long. Through the canyon we found it easier to boot back as the freeze was rock solid. We used an alternative approach from petyo approach parking lot which doesn't have any advantages.

Skied Niblock Col on Saturday, we walked along side the bog for the first 50meters but other wised skied the whole way. Breakable crust on the top third but otherwise good corn down lower. Thinks didn't really warm up completely. Saw some tracks off the col between popes peak and unnamed to the south that descend to Lake Louise that looked pretty bold.

...must be talking about the snow cause it was fricken cooking warm yesterday.

Louise was fucking awesome today. Backside is in such great shape right now...shame to loose it for the rest of the year. Until next year...

Was playing with the new lens again today so here's a variety of pics.

Looks good T2C, the pics and the snow.

Was 26C in town today, I even got the lawn sprinklers going today

I guess winter is officially gone in cowtown. Just awaiting that last freak snowfall of the year that shows up around this time of year to happen...

Keep it coming though, this looks like it'll be the closest I can get to the snow for the time being... maybe even the season , you are keeping me sane!

2nd to that, what a great way to close out the resort season. and talk about dead, there was one point where we went up and down paradise and didn't see a single other person, in the bowl or on the chair!

I never thought I'd say this but my absolute best run of the day was down wiwaxy to juniper around 1pm (for some mid-day brews)...there was a section on the side that was groomed without a single track. It was so soft that it gave you that surfy feeling all the way to the bottom. Oh yeah, and all the girls rocking tank tops on the patio at the bottom didn't make the day any worse

Hahaha, keep your eyes peeled for death cookies. Love how they showed that wicked spill again and again and again. Guy's gonna get gapper boarders killed which isn't so good though.

It was a nice weekend up on the Wapta.

Skiing in on Friday after work:

Heading to Thompson on Saturday after coming down one of the ramps on S Rhondda:

Managed to skin up and ski down from Thompson:

    Sunday was Olive/St Nic:

Only managed 3 turns off the top of St Nic before I traversed. Major props to mindthegap for skiing over the roll before traversing. That's a very intimidating slope. The rest of the run down to the hut from there was perfect corn. Pardon the horrible over-exposure.

That's definitely the last time across the lake for me.

Although I'm sure MTG would love to take credit for that radness, we were on crowfoot that day.

And I think this line on the headwall has been skied by Tim Grey (biglines.com) http://www.summitcommunications.ca/site/Tim_Resume.html

I'm hoping to get in some good skiing on the long weekend. Moraine lake road opens soon? Gotta keep the approaches short or the partners start bitching about how they should've gone mountain biking instead.

That's a really cool looking line. Wonder if that was the person who posted the Victoria pics earlier since he claimed to have been skiing it in the interview?

The person who posted skied the Sickle and the other line which are both on the east face of Mt. Victoria. The North Face drops in to the Lake O'hara road side of things. I can't see some one skiing at that calibre confusing the 2 so probably not the same person. Completely different aspects down the mountain.

...you could ski the upper North Face and then drop down through the col to the plain of six side as per the standard mountaineering route for the north summit....

I have lots of stuff in mind via PM. Do you have a bike?
