also nice to see the overview pics of the line in the video. helps to know where you are.

my wife is looking for a new AT for next year. can you post details for the skis?

Especially for people who wouldn't otherwise appreciate quite how steep it is as POV never does the gradient justice.

Do you want price details/spec details or both? If she wants a look at them or demo that can be arranged as well.

Got one done today that i've been wanting to do for a while. Wasn't content banging resort laps and wanted some quiet reflective time with no distractions. Snow was fantastic. line had a little bit of weak temp crust on the top, approx 20cm dry snow under that, and compact and solid under that. Was starting to get pinwheeling on NE just before 11:00. Just warm enough to get rid of the crust, but not enough quite yet to affect the dry under it or make it unreasonable. Very surface shmooed a bit at the top off the roll...probably wouldn't have skied it another 10 minutes later, had to blitz to get out there in time before it turned too sketch from the sun.

Some other people hit it recently so I pushed passed their tracks to get my own further along.

Was nice to have a good bootpack in for me...thanks if it was you.

Made sure to bag both summits and had nice views of the Ass'

Untouched...just starting to get some pinwheeling no time to dilly dally don't want to be "that guy" in the reports that said, "yeah, noticed the snow was moist just before dropping in". I was fine with it but would have rerouted not long after had I stopped or slowed up on the way.

    Woot

Funny cause J and I were just talking the other day how judgemental back country snob skiers are. Saw a lady solo in the meadows and she asked where I came from then made sure to point out..."you wanna make sure you're up early for that". Subtle, but left me thinking no shit sherlock thanks for the edjumacation that's why i'm on my way back now at 11:00. She probably saw the itsy point release or something.

...it's an absolutely gorgous line and very aesthetic. I totally recommend it. Nice 40* pitch and wide open. If your using the lifts you need to get out there fast as the snow typically starts getting too warm right around the time you get there if you waste time. You can shift aspect just a wee bit more N.ward to give you a little bit of time wiggle room by skiing the part that has all the previous tracks on it if the NE is just a bit too warm.

Nice, I got out there a month or so ago, beautiful spot. Gets crazy warm though, felt like we were trekking through the desert on the return early in the afternoon.

Woke up, +3 in the village and cloudy all night. Would have been silly to hit what I wanted to so went back to bed to await the dentist.

Now you've got expectations on quality posts... If post #2 isn't this good, I'll feel let down.

P.S., you can say shit on this forum. You can also say piss, cunt, fuck, etc. Do it, you'll feel better, almost as good as when you skied that line

Oh yeah, and welcome, do stick around

    well done on victoria.

also looking forward to the colgan pics.

grand daddy was good today. the weather co-operated, the runnels were good for booting, and the ski down was mega fun, if runnel-y.

no snow bridges left. sack up or bring waders.

Wow there's a lot of great stoke showing up. May for BIG lines apparently. Freagin skian and your 40 km sled ride followed by bagging harrison. Thats freagin ridonculous. And those mountains up by louise look greeaaat too. I've been missing out.

Should be frozen solid tomorrow but sunny. Thought I'd take another shot in the dark starting at 1am. If anyone has something better in mind than vermillion let me know. (Any snow at the road in vermillion pass left??). I'm the douchiest city snob douche but beer cures that problem.

edit: leaving the city at 1 am sucks... we'll see if I can ge t my ass out of bed.

Really solid freeze last night that never really unfroze today and another partially cloudy night should make it bomber tommorrow, however winds were gusting over 50km today with plumes coming off ridges and peaks. Watch for windslab.

I was at quartz creek today, which is pretty much on par with rogers.
the crust supproted my sled all day even at 1800. time not meters.
there was about 3cm and blowing snow was loading lee.
I could climb anything anywhere in these conditions.
    but don't underestimate creek crossings,
a world of hurt awaits the amitures, coz the lower mtn is shmoo without refreeze.
good luck and go get "em.

Fucking windy up there again today. Strong enough to lean in to on some of the gusts. Wasn't seeing alot of plume coming off the peaks but I suspect it's all been blown in already from yesterday / before. Didn't have time to wait for Purple bowl to soften up so skied it in really heinous death crust. Too f'n windy to hang out up on the ridge for 2 more hours anyways. There's some nice snow under that shit crust.
