I am not expecting to see much more than 7" at the mountain. Still raining here in El Jebel, which is fine with me the moto riding today was great and I want to keep riding. I have lost almost all motivation to ski this winter.

I think the NW flow will come since the system is moving a bit slower than expected, although I wouldn't mind keeping that WSW flow for most of the night, double digit totals in CB already...gonna be good tomorrow!

The HD panorama-cam at midvail shows it coming straight down pretty good just before dark. Light accumulation on the trees.

That thing is pretty cool, you can see line jumpers, people skinning up early and lots of near misses in the boneyard. Actually a good tool for mountain management to watch traffic and so on, footage for lawsuits protection...

I hope it keeps up, heading up in the early am to hopefully beat out all the jongs on I-70. Really excited to get out on some fresh snow.

NOAA seems to feel the NW flow and better orographics will kick in around midnight as the main trough/stronger lift moves overhead and then continue through the morning hours. Heavy snow should return and we should still see nice totals.

curious to see the #s this morning. It stopped snowing at my place around 7:30 and then only really light snow from time to time. Maybe V and BC got the goods.

Vail still hasn't posted the 24 hour total. But there's 4-5 inches down in town.

Let's hope for an underreport. I'm still hopeful for an incredible day. Winds sounded heavy at times here in Edwards last night so 9" at the stick should be significantly higher further up the mountain.

There's a legitimate foot out there. Awesome storm skiing...glad I had the morning off.

I have to be at work in a few minutes, but I dont really even feel bad because the lift lines at Vail today are absolutely horrendous....I got in line at 8 and was just outside the maze at vistabahn. Pretty much 20 minute minimum lines all over the place. Once the crowd caught up to my group lines got pretty nuts.

Storm was slow, much slower than forecast by about 6 hours. This means that WSW winds continued for an extra 6 hours = more snow for the San Juans and Crested Butte area than earlier forecast. This also means that the overnight totals for I-70 and north were a little less with the wind switch not until midnight, but these areas will get a good amount of snow between the 5am reports and 11am when the snow stopped. Overall, the forecast timing was a little, off, but I think the 2-day totals will be about in line with the forecast. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow!

The long-range outlook is neither great nor terrible. A ridge re-develops in the west, but storms might clip the northern 1/2 of Colorado from time to time.

great morning at the Beav. Got 4th chair on Grouse with my wife, DaHeel, and Pappa G....best run of the year. Ran into Poop Ghost, Smmokan and a few others....sorry about the new skis PG. It got douched in a hurry but it was good while it lasted. Skied some sidecountry home and a solid foot up high....LOTS of collapsing in the meadows.

Eldora earned its reputation today. It was miserably windy with maybe an inch on ice. They reported 3 this morning but they must have been measuring drifts.

Had a great morning inbounds on vail today. That being said I'm sure there will be some traffic towards east vail especially with orient running. Please keep in mind that the new snow fall will be raising the already high avi danger. Some friends and I have put together a site discussing our findings in the vail bc eastvailinstitute.com check it out

Loveland was Windy but $ today. Storm cleared out by noonish South Chutes and a couple runs under 1 opened up.

Went to MJ, 5" seemed a bit "optimistic." Still a fun day. Big fractures and some good amounts of debris on road cuts and some closed terrain visible from the chair inbounds.

It was DEEP today! 20" is no bullshit. It was super tender and slabbed up in the sidecountry. We had several smaller pockets rip out... with 2 foot crowns... in thick, big, old trees!

The Beav was a lot of fun today, needless to say the first few runs were the best of the season.

Another big storm or so and the trees will be skiing really well too, though it was crazy to see all the collapsing and cracking on a pretty wide variety of terrain. All in all a good day to be a Colorado skier.

Amen to that... the Beav delivered big time today. Easily 18" in most spots, more where the snowpack decided to collapse underneath you.

The Burn was excellent this morning also. They first couple drop in points were still roped off, the the last one was open. It was deep in there - first time open all season, so it should be. Skied well for the first couple hours.
