oh boy.. let the gapers ski it, wreck selves on the breakable wind crust, break it up for all us, so when the next few storms come through all that crap is gone. In all seriousness, I would highly suggest curbing enthusiasm for that terrain.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Be nice to get some snow the next few days, but I see lots of talk of South and East. That makes me think we'll be on the lower end. Split low means no wrap around NW flow??

wraparound NW flow rarely ever does much for our area, that flow is normally not strong enough to provide good orographics. This is a front range storm again, an inch or 2 would be my guess for west of the divide. Better than nothing.

not really. there are enough aspects up there that when one aspect gets wind, others get loaded. plus, refills days after a storm are good too. it's also the best access to Peak 6, which skied very well all of last season.

If we're going by trends, then the next real powder day should be around the end of March.

I thought everyone had stopped hoping for a massive pattern shift this winter? It just isn't going to happen this year. We'll have some snowy periods and it'll be colder at times but this winter is what this winter is at this point. Go out and ski or ride and enjoy being outside but I wouldn't expect it to get crazy good all of a sudden.

This storm should be good for the front range and San Juans but nothing much at all for our area. High pressure next week will be a good time to soak up some sun.

Hopefully Blizzard of Oz comes thru with those handy graphs he makes of the SWE. Id be interested to see where we as well as others are compared to previous seasons.

    Definitely difficult to stay positive.

It's gonna be the earliest mtb season ever, what's not to be positive about?

imperial opening was OK. couple of soft turns with a lot of grass hopping. I know they just wanted it to get packed out before this next snow but even the liftee's weren't in favor of it being open, only one way down with a windblown entrance.

Quit your bitchin, this isn't even close to 76 or 81. The skiing is pretty dam good and the satalite looks promising.

    I'll be back in March.

Moto season has already started here. So far the riding has been better then mid summer.

If it is not going to dump snow at this point it might as well not even snow.

It's a bi-winning situation, if we get tons of snow on march/april then it's a hella good spring skiing season. If we don't then it's a hella early mtb season. WINNING!

It's too bad we have never had a snowy spring in Colorado. Completely IMPOSSIBLE to catch up in a few storms...

It's 11 pm in Avon, 28 degrees and cloudy, not a flake in sight. (from the sky anyway)

Don't know why my post says 8pm, Maui time I guess...
