so the Reids auction was almost a bust for me.

Same person bought all the skis, and someone else bought all the boots/bindigns in a absentee bid. Not sure who, or where they are from, but keep your eyes open for a BUNCH of bindings/boots/ skis for sale.

Funny side note. Reids sold the skis only (not as a binding system) to one person, and a different person bought all the bindings. Hope that they know each other.....

Watch out for Blizzard-system Dukes at ski swaps. Unless you have Blizzards.

Good to see that it looks good to go already. I was up there on the 28 or something last year and it looked like there was about the same amount of snow. (We hit rocks but not too bad...)
Looks like you need to go up that valley (you were on lookers left of it i think) and up to the col to get to rae glacier... Not saying you should. but anyway its up there. Hey was there any base or was it just the 30? cm?

I wouldn't try dropping down on to Rae glacier from Ptarmigan Cirque col at this time of year....there is a bergshrund at the top of Rae that may or may not be a hidden or partially hidden problem this early.

The way the snow fell was just about perfect. About 10 cms of wet mank with 20 cms of pow on top . It was dense enough to keep us off the rocks. Dindn't hit a thing until he got back into the tree line ( which was alot of fun...) skied to the road.

We didn't know where the trail head for rae was until we got back to the parking lot and talked to some guy ( possibily a mag?) . He told us we should have parked at elbo pass . Once i saw elbo pass parking area and the mountains around it, it was pretty evident that it was the right spot.

Next time , il'l be going to rae , yesterday the guy i was with ( non mag ) went up again. The snow had firmed up but still very skiable so im thinking it will be better on Rae

When you asked for input on Rae Glacier, you should have been more specific and said you didn't know where the trailhead was. We would have told you, it's not exactly a secret.

Or you could have googled Rae Glacier. The top result says this:

"The trail to Rae Glacier is accessed from the Elbow Pass day use area. Take the wide hiking trail up to the very, very popular Elbow Lake."

The glacier terminus area and about 150 metres up from it. That area is usually the shitty part early season. With that said there were a couple days last September where it was filled in nicely and we didn't hit a single rock in there.

^no, just to show what it's normally like up there early early season. The shot of just the tracks and terrain is from last year on Sept. 4 and the others are from the previous season in Oct.

Would like to see the pics from yesterday. Bueller?
