Fuck. I can think of a lot worse ways to show off than to post up some pics of skiing which will probably rise someone's stoke level.

No one's 100% confident all the time. Some dick-waving for the peanut gallery is just fine if you ask me (unless you can't find other ways to work on your confidence). [/dr phil]

I also must say that I feel the increasing quality of the TR's coming out of all sections of the country and world is at least partly due to the synergy of mag interaction.

I skied with a bunch of the folks putting these TRs up starting alomost 6 years ago and the progression they have made in that time is mind boggling.

SKiing with, being inspired and pushed by other mags is huge.

I mean, Xover was never quite a gaper, but at least i used to be able to keep up with him.....

Commaraderie, excitement, pics, comedy, drama, success, failure, "I+1"...many have a wide range in each of them that just truly makes this board a must visit during any workday.

TRs that are always on my A list: bcr, trackhead, Iskibc, 666, bullet, xover...

I know my stuff isn't much (and definitely not the stoke extreme of many here), but when we get snow here in SoCal I try to add whatever I can with words an photos...so at least folks elsewhere can see we "do" have some sweet terrain here...

I agree with Bullet that if Nymph and Sandygal are lurking here, they need to start posting some of their photos...plus, on this site, we could ALWAYS use a few more lovely ladies who love to ride

I want to ski longer lines without stopping, so I'm liking the idea of setting up cameras further back. Also, I want to see a ton of headcam footage and I'm hoping to get a camera strapped to Brett's head since he skis so steady.

Honestly, with some of the crap we see, this board has a ton of room for all the TRs regardless of GNAR points, photo skills, location etc. What's cool about this board is getting a peak into what really fires people up. That feeling you get from going to a new place, meeting new people and accomplishing your goalis what I live for. This is what you see in the TRs. Too many people in this world have no passsions. It is what makes this place different.

I'm reminded of the TR by someone from Scotland(?) where they were skiing on the green carpet. That rocked.

on a side note, Owens- perhaps a new icon to indicate "trip report" (I started following either Iskibc or 666's lead with the smiley face indicator) - that way when someone logs on who wants to just check trip reports can quickly scan through the messages posted.

I know it inspires me to get out and do more when I see how wonderful it is, and serves as a cautionary tale when things don't go as planned.

Everyone has a different style, and they do it at a high level. Even the NSR TRs are fun to read. I love being able to slip into the minds and thoughts of everyone who posts up a TR. The energy and the passion flowing through these TRs is amazing. Nice work maggots and keep 'em coming. ...

I hope to throw down some worthy shit some day.

Keep the stoke coming. Definitely agree with comments by str8line, The Reverend Floater, meatdrink9, ljm, Bullet, SkiingBear, Mrs Roo, Bad_Roo, SheRa, teledave, Foggy_Goggles, bcrider, Lloyd Christmas, Squirrel99, splat, Trackhead, Telenater, iskibc, Johnny Gnar, Woodsy, Bodhi. Not everyone can huck 50 footers, so post whatever photos/videos from wherever you are having fun regardless of the mountain size or geographic location or number of photos (even if it is only 1 or 2).

I would like to thank all of those who have taken the time and effort to create the quality TRs. The trip reports/snowsports photos & videos are the best thing about this forum. Truly inspirational! Dwanis post Nervous Star Chute Run http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=29847 last year was a classic example of this quality.

Until the TGR community decides it is worthy to recognize the efforts that the TRs/Snowsports Photos & Videos involve and create a separate Trip Reports/Snowsports Photos & Videos subforum, Squirrel99 has a good idea with the smiley face indicator.

Definitely agree with this, when I saw that report from Mt. Ripley up in the keweenaw peninsula in early december, it was great to see whats happening back there. For how small a hill it is, I had a ton of really good snow days there over the years, and those guys got me stoked for that place again.

Seriously, in any case, it allows me to remember those awesome days we had during the winter, etc. It's like a journal....but I can share with it everyone.

I totally agree! I have only made two TRs but I find when I know I'm putting one together, I keep my eyes/ears peeled for funny or awesome things to happen so that I can include them, plus skiing in front of a camera of any sort, or people watching, for that matter makes me watch my form all that more carefully.

It is also a cool way to share your personality with other people in the ski world, a picture can say a thousand words, but a picture AND writeup can say even more!

Can't wait to see and make more in the coming weeks/months/years...
    Believe.

Jeez, now I'm inspired to write a TR. And I've got a memory card full of pics of a 700 inch season at Alta that I've been too lazy to sort.

I love Alta and would be super pleased to go back. So that's a definite maybe. But Jackson Hole is increasingly on my mind. Sidecountry is pretty much my favorite skiing and I've never even been out the gate there. Did a day on Teton Pass years ago and skied inbounds on a fat powder day, so I know it's very, very good.

So we'll see. That's a long way off and my priority right now getting sorted for Hawaii next summer. And I'm really looking forward to a great season back in Summit County.
