I've got a fun, rather unorthodox little TR that would probably get drowned in the rash of neck-deep, stoke-filled US trip reports right about now.

I agree about the standard of trip reports. I read them with envy.

The only little issue I have is that I'm often reluctant to post them myself as I am not a particularly GNAR maggot/ette. I just don't think what I do will interest people but maybe I'm being self conscious. I'm going to set myself a goal of writing a report WITH pics following my Cham trip next week. If I fail, feel free to flame/jong at will!

Even if you're not the most gnar skier (and I know I'm not), just have a story to tell and/or some pretty pictures of someone who is a decent skier!

A great tip is to find a pro photographer who's lining up a photoshoot and stand just... nevermind.

And to keep the thread on course, props to the TRs. I'm testing my limits a lot more since I see on a daily basis what's possible...and anyway they make office life bearable.

I'm so impressed by not only the skiing but also the photographic (or filming and editing) qualities of those TRs. sometimes I feel like a dork - I'm not cabable of either one.

Damn, this board is evolving. I am amazed at the quantity and quality of the TR's lately. Specifically, todays TR's are awesome. Who would have thought you could get as much stoke on a message board in one day as you can in a slew of magazines. To those who have brought the stoke lately, my glass is raised. And to those who consistently share their art and words with us, you deserve a medal.

It's almost scary to think what the future TR's will bring.

I've felt this way for some time now.

As for where we're going, I think we'll be making long videos that are just as good as the waiting game.

I want to ski longer lines without stopping, so I'm liking the idea of setting up cameras further back. Also, I want to see a ton of headcam footage and I'm hoping to get a camera strapped to Brett's head since he skis so steady. A camera on my head would make people queasy for sure.

Ms roo, your TR of Cham will be awesome I am sure. And pics of you will be wonderful too - just make sure they capture you in the deepest most knee-bent part of your turns. And keep your hands forward. Throw in a few pics of scantily clad french boys while you're at it.

I have spent so much time skiing with noobie kids that I'm feeling the need to write about it. Something will come...

My nomination for greatest ever trip report would have to be a three way tie betwwen Arty's Alaska Str8line Camp review, Cletus/Rev/Cornholio on their Argentinian odyssey and Cantdog's Over and Out In Butte story. Loved all of 'em.

For the first time in my life, I can honestly say I'm depressed about the weather. Can't ski, can't hike, can't bike, can't really do anything but sit inside and feel like shit... I really hope that things here continue like they have been recently, at least until I get back to Utah or things pick up here on the EC.

I am getting called up to the front line here shortly and with the kwality bein thrown down I fear any TRs I come up with should wait til august to prevent a complete plummet... think I'll have to bust out a KIR TR with grainy pics of inbounds hardpack notsognar, maybe even some cellie pics if I can learn how to upload 'em... I'm living vicariously through some of the folks here. I read almost all of them, don't comment on too many unless it's someone I personally know though just because "That Rocks!" or "FKNA" seem too trite to throw out 20 times a day.

Keep bringing them, ALL of them whether they are gnar Ohio hills or those blue groomers at Cham.

I like them too, I blame the emergence of inexpensive (relatively), light (relatively), compact (relatively), good (relatively) P&S digi cams. Before it took some serious effort to bust out a TR while it was still fresh in your mind...now you can just bust em out.

I for one really like it, even if I rarely put them up and they're never super crazy like some of them.

Agreed on the radness. For those who don't think theire TRs are up to standard...there is no standard. I get a lot of enjoyment from the TRs of the flatlanders making their western pilgrimage and such. Honestly, with some of the crap we see, this board has a ton of room for all the TRs regardless of GNAR points, photo skills, location etc. What's cool about this board is getting a peak into what really fires people up. That feeling you get from going to a new place, meeting new people and accomplishing your goalis what I live for. This is what you see in the TRs. Too many people in this world have no passsions. It is what makes this place different.

Agreed. It's not a competition. This isn't a magazine. I would love to see a Midwest TR from my home mountain(Pine Knob outside of Detroit), or any Midwest hill just to see what's going on. There's a lot of passion going on outside of the typical Alta, Euro, Kirkwood, AK, Jackson areas and it's cool to see the full spectrum of our sport.

I'm reminded of the TR by someone from Scotland(?) where they were skiing on the green carpet. That rocked.

There are so many on the board right now, it’s like a desk monkey’s paradise to be able to escape to the white room with a click of the mouse.

The quality has really been raised lately too. Also agreed that the stoke isn’t based on radness…it based on the passion the poster has for getting out there (bc/resort/whatever) and doing what they love.

TR's on this message board keep me sane while I'm sitting here in the office, watching it snow in the mountains. Until I take that rare day off during the week, I can only read these and imagine the fun these guys are having.

In addition, some of the sick pictures posted here inspire me to try things I wouldn't normally try, to jump off things I normally wouldn't consider, to ski lines I normally wouldn't even think of. Keep up the amazing work guys. We all know when we see TR in the title we're going to get some great stories and better shots.
