going straight up tomorrow morning via I80 ... hoping to score a good parking spot to make the beers easily accessible![]()

I'll be there." ... Andy Campbell
Left Squaw at 3 and it was snowing nicely up top and snowing in the parking lot.
Tomorrow should be awesome for weekenders. The snow is great.
Wow, I just noticed how many posts are in this thread...
I'll buy a beer for the 5000th poster... If that poster is Jim S I will substitute a chicken breast for the beer.
okbye
Sorry guys, can't make it to LBD, got some friends in from out of town and they are skiing Squaw (tried to convince them to hit AM). I am sure you will have fun without me.
If you are going to be drinking in the parking lot after close I will try to stop by and say hello.
Sinecure asks me to post that anyone who needs AM tickets meet him at 8:45am at Treats, just on the right of the breezeway. He'll have comps.
I'll probably be up mid-morning, and will lead the charge of the longboardless.... or at very least, will lessen your embarrassment.

Ill be at alpine tomorrow with HiGrade1... not on longboards though
Mountain was awesome today, as long as not too many people show up it will be even better tomorrow!
I wanna see some longboard trains... down thru marhangis or off the wolvie cornice would be cool!!!
I'll be at Treats in the morning. I have a couple of comps and a few tix a friend wants me to sell for $30ea. Plus I have a couple two-for one vouchers, but I don't think they're good on Saturdays.
Big snowboard is waxed. I did my best to repair the big skis - they're skiable but spats beat them up pretty good a couple years ago. I'm planning to go bi tomorrow. Snowboard some, ski some. I mounted up the skis with some Pivots that have a pretty large bsl range so someone else can ride them too.
If you don't know me, I have a reddish beard, will be wearing a captain america helmet and some Reusch gloves from the 80s.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Hey!I put one edge compression in them at LBD three years ago, probably from skiing over a Kleenex because the edges are about the width of a human hair (being genuine WC race skis from the 1970s). Any other damage was done by someone else in the years since then.
Remember, you were just going to make them into a rail slide for your kidsI still felt bad, though, so I left you those Volkls to use instead, and the 747 Equipes so future riders wouldn't rip their legs off with the green spring 727s that were on there.
They're actually a boatload of fun to ski, as they go exactly where you point them, at any speed. I recommend them to anyone with 335+ BSL.

Keeping an eye out, RF.
Every man dies. Not every man lives.
You don’t stop playing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop playing.
if i recall correctly there were about a hundred 5,000th posters last year, of which i was 2.
Just busting your balls spats. That's the repair I did. Fixed the edge compression, although it actually broke the tabs off the edge so a real repair will require screws - not worth it. The edge is also coming out at the tail, so hopefully it won't pull completely out.
Dork - got your PM. Sent you my digits, but Schralph has them too. Call when you get here.

still need the alpine tix? i am broken, so that is why i cant use them
Made it to Alpine around 10:30, skied for a couple of hours. Vis sucked on Summit anywhere above the Face, but not bad on Scott. Hit an ice bump on Bobby's, spun around, slid backwards, and tweaked my left calf trying to edge and stop. I'm guessing it's a muscle tear. Currently icing the calf at the house.
Sorry I didn't get to meet up with the LBD crew.

Heavenly served up some sweet whipped cream cheese on toasted bagel turns today (much better than typical dust on crust.)

Today was lots of fun. The weather and other factors didn't cooperate, but lots of laughs were had. My daughter got hurt on the first run. We went to First Aid and they sent her home with instructions to go to the hospital if she got worse. I switched from the giant snowboard, which was more challenging that I wanted, given that I haven't snowboarded all season. She would call me just after lunch not feeling great and I'd have to head home to take her to the hospital. An ultrasound showed no spleen injury, the main concern, and she was sent home to relax. We were in and out of Tahoe Forest Hospital in one hour - that place is efficient if it isn't high season. Now we're home relaxing and watching the Bruins kick some Hab butt. Hope the Sharks can do the same.
In the handful of runs we got in, we had some good moments. I'm sure PowDork will post up some better photos, but here are some I took on my P&S.
In the morning. I rode the big snowboard first. Whiteout on Summit made me fall right on my face in an early turn.

More fun pics.
The crew in the morning. Just three of us. Schralph's non-mag friend Andrew would join us after lunch.
Goofing around on Roundhouse:
And at the base. Me, Schralph, Powdork:
After lunch, and just before I had to run to take Little Miss Sinecure to the hospital, I let my inner SpongeBob out:

or perhaps TR Report Card has jumped the gun, since this isn't even a TR.
Dunno, I'd have given the upper mountain at squaw a C yesterday, I suppose Alpine is just a bit lower, so say a C-?
Speaking of the snow conditions yesterday; the fresh while heavy was nice. The stuff under it, in combination, was oddly hooky and grabby.
Or perhaps the weather just wasn't as springy as it should be for such an event. Sun and corn might well have convinced me to patch up and pack another set of boards and swing over to Alpine yesterday.LBD has jumped the shark.
