In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

I'll be out there. But probably not for first chair. Lots of housekeeping things to take care of with gear, kids gear, etc.

What Powdork lacks in trail breaking route finding skills
He makes up in going down
Bummed I took the whole week off, conditions are just not quite up to par for November![]()
Nice stuff ^^^^^^^^^^^^. Just waiting for someone to lay down a nice up-track in Waterhouse....
Now, if I wasn't stuck in computer/office hell, I could be enjoying this. For now, I will live vicariously through Powdork and his 4th of Julys.
went up this morn with ja surf to avoid the heavenly gestapo
it looked a little like this
it skinned a little like this
and it skis a little bit like this
it was nice to be able to aim towards the rocks instead of hiding from them.
damn ja surf is fast. looking forward to seeing some video from seanhav.
It Says: Snow Stats (snow totals in inches)
Last 24 hours 50-56"" Season Total Range 175-180""
Last 48 hours 68-72"" Mid Mountain Base 70""
Last 7 days 105-108" Storm Total 98-102""
If this is true, then damn kirkwood really got crushed, and I thought we were doing good on the north shore with totals in the 70's on some resorts, but 102 that's just crazy amounts of snow.
Just moved down to California from Alberta/BC - this bodes well for the ski season. That's some serious depth for November - totally stoked to get up there. Over 100" storm cycle that's silly. El Nina starting it up early?
they did get whacked, without a doubt, but something is amiss, How can their be a 6" variance in the 24 hour total and only a 4" variance in the 48 hour total?
And the 180 for the year is a tad outlandish.
Their totals are always ridic.
Is kirkwood good at manipulating totals? Who would you say the legit source(s) for accumulation totals in the tahoe region?
I'll be looking for a first chair at Alpine on friday, the stoke levels are THROUGH THE ROOF right now. Awesome time to be in tahoe.
That b/c looks sick.
Saturday Squaw was the tits. Even with what was open it was cleavage fantabulous: navel deep pow in Nov, good times, saw a lot of ski buddies and maggots and tons of riders stuck in the snow head first or side first on Red Dog.

Evening TGR,
Skied it, not from the top but from 11 down. Patrol & Mtn Ops did the right thing and let this new snow pack down naturally over the weekend.
Yes, to dial this down we will be measuring the base depth in Time Square, top of 5 and 6. We needed CATS to pack it down so we can get the accurate measurement. 7’ is a no brainer from what I skied off 11.
The CATS are out tonight and we are getting great compression out of the pack. Looks good. Wednesday 6 opens as well as 5, @ 11. We are working at a fairly quick pace now for opening. 12 to 24” more expected tonight & into tomorrow. Have not seen a November like this out here in 17… Top to bottom, expect more to open soon..
Stay Thirsty,
