    open season

    What an opener!

Saturday at Boreal produced a face shot! (at 6 foot 5 on skinny skis) and plenty of chest shots (face shot for you normal size people). In general, pow conditions were great. Slept hard, and reloaded for n*. And, another great day. That place was totally mobbed, but lightly cut stuff lasted to the closing bell.

Ottime - based on what I saw at north shore, I expected to see KW clock in at 6-8' - I believe them. Thinking hard about Wednesday, I might be sick

Wait at second, I thought it was fuck Microsoft by Apple?? Man I can't keep up anymore.

As for the snow, I can't wait for today's reports to start pouring in...as I sit at my desk waiting my turn later in the week, I need them to keep my going....

Any more reports of Avi activity? SAC seems to be reporting a fairly stable pack so far.

    ANYONE know?

this storm has to be approaching record territory for November. I know theres been some wild ones, but I cant recall Thankx looking soo good for all of Tahoe. The mountains will be in better shape on Wed than they were for the entire year during the late 70s-early eighties. Most of you have just heard about those years. I have pictures of the Wall at KW towards the end of Feb and it only had one or two skiable lines. I should frame it so i appreciate what we have that much more.

Dawn Patrol on Incline Peak for me this morning. Deep blower snow, but not as deep as squaw yesterday so we could move pretty well. Lots of faceshots!!

Once you see where alpine measures their upper mountain level it all makes sense.

How's the coverage? Drove by the hourglass trailhead yesterday; over 10 cars in the parking area.

Snowshoeing in the meadows was deep. The dogs got some good exercise.

    Excellent! Thanks.

I can't make it out tomorrow morning, but Wed. A.M. looks clear on my schedule. It's supposed to be insanely cold overnight Tues and Wed though.

It wasn't done loading on vimeo before I passed out. Only filmed 2 runs in the evening before putting the GoPro away. The morning was epic, so of course I left the GoPro in the car

Interested in a third party? (Went by on Sat but it was too bony and opted for some stuff near Castle instead. I'm sure it's filled in by now though.)

Is Kirkwood's snow report bullshit claiming a 102" storm total?

Mandatory pants-wearing on these dawn patrols...

If I go, it'll probably be around 6 AM at the hourglass trailhead. I want to see what tonight/tomorrow's storm brings in first. First tour of the year for me, which means I'll be slow.

FYI, Alpine has made it official. Top-to-bottom opening Friday with Summit, Roundhouse, Hot Wheels and Meadow. And they plan to stay open. Looks like most everything will be running - rentals, shop, Treats, ski school, food. I wouldn't expect the Chalet to be open, but you'll find food at the base and some tasty skiing everywhere.
