Is that Yellowstone or Mono Lake? Looks to me like evaporate deposits associated with hydrothermal activity. [/geology dorking]

neither, but your second guess is pretty close. I'll give you some hints ... it's in a different watershed basin north of Mono, and it's definitely CaCO3 deposits. I forgot what those features are called, but when you have those natural aqueduct walls that form by spring precipitation, and it keeps getting higher and higher while the water runs through a trough in the middle. There are plenty of those things that feed the pools. I'll post up more pics later [/continued geology geeking]

Right on. Don't know the area around Mono all that well, but I was pretty sure about what I was seeing. Thanks.

I was thinking panoramas for the current MPC so this is the best exterior shot I got.

Went and shot some photos of an old friend skateboarding yesterday. None of the skating shots are all that great, but I did wanna share what is probably the raddest tattoo I've ever seen....ever, and a shot of my friend I took on the way to the park.

    Jeremy

An ollie Sequence from the park...I hate the lighting there...its never good because of all the trees around the park.

After the skate session we met some friends down at the beach, and this dude (total stranger) walked up to us telling us all about his tattoo.

And a detail view of the tat. Yeah, you are seeing that right...those are tits and a cock.

My very first long exposure night photo shot under a full moon. Shot at Convict Lake back in July 2007 and finally added to my website last night.

My first attempt at shooting fireworks. I've rented the Nikon 12-24 AF-S for waterfalls before, and I really wish I'd had it last night. Still, it was a good learning experience. Can't wait for the 4th of July.
