Looking at icemans black yukon pic I had a flashback/epiphany.

I recall having to stop and wait a few times for Dick Cheney and his escorts to zoom by me in their black SUV's when I lived up there.

Get whatever they have then instead of stopping just pretend to be part of thier crew. That would be cool.

I would go for the Range Rover sport Turbo, if you need more room then Regular Range, or LR4 is a great truck with tons of room. Land Rover are good looking, can go most places and sporty. I think with 2 kids and 2 dogs X5 and cayenne will be too small.
LR4 would fit all needs it seems. Drives like Range and interior is really nice.

Fuck the LR4. "The LR4 does a very un-SUV like sprint to 62mph of just 7.6 seconds." For a family hauler to be in the stupid fast category, we are talking less than 5 seconds to 60 mph IMO.
The Cayenne Turbo S model, now boasts a whopping 550 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque. With an estimated 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds ftw.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

heh, you see them around D.C. all the time, ten Yukon Denalis with windows tinted BLACK, a couple of limos, then ten more Yukons. It would be cool to just jump into the line, you'd get to places FAST.

Hey if the Secret Serice likes 'em, that's good enough for me.

edit: A friend of mine who drives a ton has one of those Infinities that DoWork mentioned, sweet ride.

I get that it isn't super fast, but with 2 big dogs, 2 kids and ski stuff the Cayenne won't fit everything. I still think for a Jackson suv the LR4 or Turbo Range is the way to go.

Fallen tree branch in your drive way? Just have the kids pop-up and blast it to shreds.

I am guessing that the size is probably = or maybe > than the A6, but the geometry (?) is strange. The back seats come come close to hatchback which creates a "trunk" for your goods, which is okay for bags, but didn't seem so great for dogs, cats or small ponies. I went with a friend who was looking at small SUV's / station wagons and he liked the regular X5, but didn't want to put his dog back behind the seats. He went with a E320 wagon which seems like a very nice way to get from point A to B (and fills none of your requirements.)

    FWIW.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

^ Confirmed that you can fit a small pony (Shetland) in the back of the X5. He'll whinny a lot but you can just drown him out with the stereo.

Can't offer any advice on the SUV front, Suit but if you still have the S4 I might wanna take a look.

Haven't read the entire thread, but the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 will smoke the Cayenne Turbo and the X5. Fastest production SUV on the planet, and you can grab one for $40k. The only downside is my penchant for 4-wheel burnouts, which has me on my 3rd set of tires and I've only got about 35k miles on the odometer.

Suit, have you looked at the 2010 A6 Avant? 3.0 supercharged 6, same as the new S4, albeit de-tuned by 33 hp. Nothing a little aftermarket software can't fix.

My brother has the 5.7L Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 with a couple mods and the thing feels like its going to do a wheelie when punched.

I have read stuff where you can mod a Cayenne Turbo S so it has 750hp. Even better, I've read that this guy raced an SRT-8 where off the line, the SRT-8 is usually the winner but after 80mph, the Turbo S blew it away. He also stated that at about 100 mph the SRT-8 starts shedding parts....

GMC Typhoon from the early 90's. Turbocharged / Intercooled 4.3 liter 6 cylinder... rated at a 14.1 quarter mile.

Or.. the ultimate status symbol. 2007 G55 AMG ... Nothing quite like a "G-Wagon". Rated at a 13.2 quarter mile thanks to its supercharged 5.4 liter v8which puts it in just about the same class as my buddy's 2004 CTS-V which is sporting an LS6 (also found in the z06 corvette) with 400 horsies which is a blast to drive.

I have a FX35 and LOVE it. My only gripe is lack of HP. Stock mine has 280. I'm seriously considering the stage 3 HKS or Stillen supercharger. That'd bump HP up to around 430 or so.

It handles really well, brakes are strong, and it got me around in about 18 inches of snow on unplowed streets.

    Fight the power, man.

The S5's are nice, is it a '13?

I keep looking at pics of the RS5. I wish it had the engine from the S6 in it, that biturbo 4 liter V8 is pretty badass, but still.

I think her S5 is a '13. Brand new two weeks ago. It has the same engine as your S4, which is effing mint. I like it much better than the old S4 V8.

There was an RS5 at the dealer. I think it would have been overkill.

She thought she wanted a TTS. She didn't understand why I kept calling the TT a fake sports car, until she test drove it.

I drove Toureg for a few years and it ripped. Definitely the best performance to non-pretentious ratio if thats your thing.

Im pretentious and would have preferred the Cheyenne turbo.

I drove a Touareg diesel for a while. Then my daughter turned 16 and somehow she got it.

    I am oppressed by women.
