Grew up in Rice Lake, WI. Moved to Fergus Falls, MN. Went to high school in Fargo, ND. There's been a lot of talk of "The City". Fargo is what NYC wants to be. It's like the Istanbul of the Midwest.

Since leaving Fargo, I have lived in Grand Forks, ND. Winston-Salem, NC. Fayetteville, NC. Anchorage, AK. Tacoma, WA. Charlottesville, VA. And now -- Waialua/Haleiwa HI. Despite too damn many years in Nodak, that is what I would call home if anyone asked me. Since I left, I've definitely lived in some really cool places and seriously enjoyed moving around. That said, the only property I own is in the Kootenays of B.C. Gotta keep my eye on the prize!

Hometown is nothing special but home mountain for me is Alpy. Love it for its location, 45 mins away, hate it for the crowds on Ch 2, has a good atmosphere and generally a very chill place to be. Plus Alpy fries at lunch are amazing.

Marquette, Michigan. I love it. Population of only 30,000, and that includes 10,000 college students.

We have a ski area 8 miles from my house that opens in mid November and closes in mid to late April. It's only 600 feet of vertical, but it is open till ten pm every night. It will definitely keep your skills sharp for western trips.

We get lots of snow in the winter:

We have a sled dog race that starts on the main street downtown, which is pretty much the social highlight of our winter... Drunken yoopers everywhere!

    Summer is unbelievably nice:

My buddy Scott and his girlfriend, Kimberly:

Your town IS kick ass, Like a mini Duluth with more snow. Never seen so much damn snow in a city in my life, And I live in big sky mt...

Chantilly, Virginia is where I grew up, although I'm in the Denver suburbs now.

Unfortunately, now it looks like this:

The Shenandoah was only about 45 minutes away.

Played in Cub Run as a kid.

When we could get away, the Monongahela National Forest called to us...

    Williamsburg, KY pop 3500

Not much too this little town on the banks of the Cumberland River. Lots of bad stuff going on there now with meth and such but I had a good time . No crowds and lots of National Forest to romp in. I don't think I could go back there now but I am still in love with the land. I miss the biodiversity. I was shell shocked when I moved to Boulder, CO.

    main street circa 1900

Spent allot of time in the Dan Boone National Forest. No crowds just me a my buds hiking, camping and fishing. I really came to love the outdoors there.

The forest there is like a fckn jungle

Just about 40 minutes down the road is The Big South Fork. Spent allot summers there camping and backpacking. Finally went back last year and did this section with all my buds in a raft. Made it all clean except for this one "Double Drop" it dumped us all in the water. We got slammed into the big rock on river left. I am dreaming of going back in getting it done in my kayak.

I really love the land there. My ancestors were among the first settlers to come into Kentucky through Cumberland Gap. I am torn between Colorado and back woods of Kentucky.

Grew up here, in Toledo, OH. Fine place to grow up. Played lots of hockey and enjoyed the summers with buddies.

Moved here in 2000 (Houghton, MI). Not far from Yooper's home of Marquette.

The summers just rule here. Nice climate, great water skiing, sailing on Lake Superior is within 5 minutes, decent mountain biking. Hard to beat living here.

    Plenty of snow, too.

I love Houghton, too. Portage Lake/canal is awesome.

Rice Lake!!! I'm from the big city, Eau Claire. I've shredded many pair of gloves on the rope town at good old Mt. Harscrabble. Good times.

Lakewood Colorado is the fourth most populous city in the State of Colorado and the 164th most populous city in the United States. The City of Lakewood was incorporated in 1969. At the time of incorporation the city population was already over 90,000, making Lakewood one of the largest cities, at the time of original incorporation, in the history of the United States.

I grew up just a few blocks from Lakewood's #2 Tourist attraction. The 2.99 steak breakfast is legendary. I do not recommend ordering the open-face turkey sandwich when on mushrooms, any other time it is quite good.

Our #1 Tourist attraction and an actual place.

Most South Park watchers seem amazed that this place actually exists.

My Dad worked at the Federal center. The most Goverment offices in one place outside of D.C.
I used to have the run of the place and it is pretty cool some of the stuff located in there. The USGS was a neat place and their topo-map room was the amazing.

My Dad will still pop by the USGS before Christmas because they give away free topo maps that are outdated. He uses them to wrap presents.

Lakewood was home to one of the original shopping malls, still one of the neatest malls I have ever been in. The old Villa Italia. (Now the Belmar Center)

Born and raised in Waco, Texas. Yes, that Waco. It was surprisingly a pretty nice place to grow up as long as you're on the right side of town. When I go home to visit, I see someone I know every place I go.

    Home of Dr Pepper:

The largest Baptist University in the world:

    Former home to religious wackos:

Now home to this guy's ranch:
