puppy obedience classes in denver area?

Looking for a recommendation for puppy obedience classes, preferably in west denver. Our little guy is almost 4 months old and we want to take him to an obedience class. Anyone got any good recommendations? I need something that doesn't use clicker training (just a personal preference). Google searching isn't coming up with much.

    Cody, growing up.

Not too thrilled after his first bath.

    Getting his first faceshots.

Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!

I didn't know you guys were getting a puppy. CONGRATS what a cutey!

We took Bobik to see Ted Terroux and I personally really liked his philosophy and methodology. No clickers and his correction method is very simple and surprisingly effective:

Thanks! I checked out his website, it looks good! I wish the puppy classes weren't on Saturdays, but I guess we can give up some skiing to train the little dude. =) Thanks for the recommendation. I'll probably give them a call or go check it out soon.

Yeah, we got him about a month and a half ago, when he was 8 weeks. He's an Australian Shepherd mix and we got him from the Colorado Puppy Rescue. We picked the hairiest one. He's super friendly, has tons of energy, and loves snow.

    Cody at 8 weeks:

Damn, more cute pictures! I take it you're back for good now and have given up your dreams of big hair and airbrushed on makeup for ski life in the "big city"

Luckily for us, we got to goto classes after ski season was over. You should both try to go to the classes b/c as with all things like this it's about training you two more than the dog.

Haha. Yeah, Texas wasn't for me. I enjoyed it and met lots of good people (yes, Texans) but I can't deal with the heat and the lack of mountains.

Did you take your dog to the puppy classes or did you start with the basic obedience? The puppy ones are drop-ins, so I'm wondering how many of them we should go to before doing the basic obedience (which I think might be during the week).

That is where my future-canine brother-in-law goes. But he's half american bulldog, half australian shepherd and stubborn as shit. Tom says he's a lost cause

We used these guys for puppy kindergarten when our pup was 10 weeks old: http://www.bskddogtraining.com/classes/class_index.htm

Great class. However, since your dog is almost 4 months, you will probably want the junior beginners or beginners course.

Just basic obed IIRC. Call and ask Ted. We didn't do any puppy classes and it was fine. Basic obed is really basic and includes quite a bit of socialization.
