im definitely in for hiking and also vote yes to fresh draft beer, provided my out of shape ass doesn't have to help carry it up there.

IMO, hiking is easier if you are in pretty good shape. I have mega-rides + freerides and would way rather throw them on my back. There is just no way I could skin at the speed I can hike.
95% of the people in tucks on any given day are on plain old alpine gear.
if the hiking trail isn't snow covered, I think its easier than skinning. If it is snow covered, its easier to skin up sherb. I was there in the late '70s or early '80s and some canadians had managed to get a keg up to lunch rocks.
I agree with HF, and add that I think the snow covered tuck's trail is usually pretty well packed. With the right footwear it really isn't a problem. Re: fresh draft beer, I think that two 5 gallon kegs should make their way to the shelters on Friday night, by whatever means, and be rested and ready to tap for Sat. afternoon/morning/breakfast

Yo dudes.
I'm in. Gpetrics and I have talked the keg thing over many times. We even have a system all rigged up to sled it in. Mike if you and EC are having a hard time, we could take the duty off of your shoulders. While I haven't talked to Gpetrics today, I'm fair in saying, We'd be glad to get the keg up there for Friday night, and have the remainder of it in the bowl for Saturday morning.
This is going to be freakin fun! Mags littering the ravine, I'm sure someone is going to jump off some stupid shit on the headwall!

I like the initiative, however, it pains me to report what a little birdie told me re: kegs and park rangers (the word confiscation was used)
I have a friend who wants to hike and not ski... We'll get him drunk and handcuff him to the keg, so it anyone wants to confiscate a keg they'll have to take a six foot lithuanian with it![]()

the keg is taken care of. they cannot confiscate it so long as you practice "leave no trace" principles.
I have hiked and skinned up to Hermit Lake hundreds of time, I would much rather skin it. I will donate my sled to get that keg up there. About 2 hours and you can be on the ravine floor.
Beandip, snowsprite, Steve, and other NYC area mags -
If you're not making it a three day weekend, which I know has already been mentioned, I might be interested in car pooling from the Hudson Valley area. Still not sure if I'm going, but if it's going to be a weekend trip car pooling is basically essential (and I can't take a three day weekend). Anyone interested?
That's not funny you old asshole. My parents have to live in that house,... they were pretty deeply offended. Besides, I never told you this, but after you left that next day, my father was like. "What happened to him last night? It smells like burnt whale sperm downstairs, and he barely touched his frittata." I told him you were going through menopause, and to cut you some slack.
p.s.- you're old

I'm in for helping with Keg duty, I must live up to my fathers name. haha
"If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"
Im in for bringing a keg up on Friday too. Especially if we have a sled. Fuck..if we have a sled we should get a big 1/2 barrel.
