Today was amazing. Hiked up fingers and skied the far left of the meadows. Untouched since the last storm probably. At least waist deep. So nice.

Don't worry, the next 2 seasons are pretty much guaranteed to go off while I'm stuck in the midwest/east. Plus, we're going to Mexico at the end of January so that should help even more. MT is close enough to UT to get the residual effect. Oh how I miss the west...

Missed ya up there today. Got firsties down some funky line between the Os and B Gully this morning and I had to stop and unclog my helmet every 100 feet or so (and I was on Spats). My camera was still with the airline from visiting my folks for XMas. Bastards lost my luggage as always.

Who the hell did I talk to for a second down at the Griz today? Some dude had cracked the sidewall on his Lotus 138s mounted with Dukes. Only some jackass from this board would smash such a gnarly setup.

Anyone hear about the guy in tight squeeze? Hucked thirty feet to rock and smashed his hip and femur. Temp. ridge closure because of it.

And that right there is why you never, ever, ever huck this early in the season.

    Ouch.

im even able to ski right now, but had the pow clause revoked this week because over half my department is out on vacation.

i know at least one of those bastards is sitting around the house doing nothing and not answering his phone.

i get to spend three weeks next month travelling for work then see the doc in early feb.

It looked like those rocks had the snow scraped off of them... I dont even know how to hit that thing. In big snow years they arent even completely covered, as far as I can tell.

I remember skiing the tight squeeze in 96-97. It was so filled in you could make turns down the chute, then it was like a 5-10 foot drop and you just had to make a turn around the rock he landed on. My buddy had just gotten a new pair of 210's and was having an off day. He caught a ski in the chute and ended up hanging upside down from the choke over the rock drop anchored in place by his 210. He finally managed to get himself out, but it was pretty funny watching him flail around trying to get unstuck.

Did the guy jump from the skiers left side of the choke? Sounds horrible, hope the healing goes well.

Well, it's been a few days since our last storm and nobody liked my idea for a new thread for this year, so I'll repost my pics from it here.

All pics are from a November(?) morning of skinning with the dog and lobstahmeatwad before we had to go to work and school.

We hit the inversion layer heading up. A very nice day for skinning.

Then we hit the North Bowl road and realized we had to break trail through the new snow. The Dukes performed admirably.

Then it was time to ski. Ghost (the dog) was jacked.

All photo credits go to lobstahmeatwad. All overly-stiff photo slutting is mine.

Then we had brunch and went in for first tracks on avy gully. It was blow in pretty deep.

I hope this quality repost appeases the snow gods and they bless us with their goodness.

Pretty gnarly up there today. Windiest conditions I have ever skied in, plus it was basically hailing at the same time. And it was packed? Craziness.

Flippers was not bad yesterday. One of the two runs worth skiing. The other is ptarmigan to upper sluice. Dont ski lower sluice, but when you are coming down stick to the right side walls in the upper part. "creamy"ish windbuff goodness.

The John has been skiing nicely, too. D - did things go well on Sunday. Conditions were actually pretty good. I meant to look for you but I had a HUDGE class of older kids trying to take chunks out of my tails on Alpine and PK.

Really? I'm planning to ski MLB Wed, barring dumpage @ BB. Bad call?

MOGUL MICE ROCKS!! Great instruction, fun games, the kid is more pumped on skiing than ever.

Lars is back? Still rockin the red pants?
