    Northern Peru???

    Hey all,
I think I´m going to be in Northern Peru this weekend (between Tumbes and Piura i.e. beaches near Mancora). Any advice for a jongish surfer?

Cheap places to stay, best beaches, out of the way spots, surf that is not gonna eat us alive, places to rent gear, where to buy blow, etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Go to Chicama - longest breaking left in the world ... something like 1.6km.

Quick search brought this up: http://www.perusurfguides.com/peru_s...es_chicama.php

there is good surf around mancora. never been that far north but so i hear. there are a lot of breaks around the northwest point. chicama is quite far away but worth it. pretty remote place. also really nice is pacasmayo. stay otto's surf hotel. he'll hook you up.

been there before...bunch of good spots facing all directions! it is a bit warmer than chicama area. dont go to chicama unless it is huge sw swell.

the spots around mancora - cabo blanco and los organos are north swell spots so go south of mancora about 1 hr to lobitos and piscinas some epic lefts within walking distance of one another. not much in the way of places to stay there tho. better to stay in mancora area, also you might be able to rent boards there.

stoked for you hope you get some good waves up in that area! it sticks out a bit farther in the pacific so it is like a wave magnet in that area. also even though the winds pick up in the afternoon it usually is sideshore or offshore.
