New Yankee fan? Or do you only chirp up when the team is close to the top. At least irul hung around for a while early in the year when they sucked. Fairweather fraud.

EDIT- That was a bit harsh...but thats what bad moods do.

It ain't over. Sure the Sox have some probs right now, but the ship could be righted in a heartbeat. Hang on, little campers, hang on. We'll see what happens.

Lovable Prankster Pedro Martinez Admits He Was Never Really Hurt

NEW YORK—Following another impressive start Monday, enigmatic but lovable Mets clubhouse joker Pedro Martinez informed reporters that he was "just kidding" about his arm injury, rotator-cuff surgery, and yearlong stint on the DL, playfully shrugging his shoulders and grinning in a fashion Mets officials are calling "vintage Pedro." "Boy, are our faces red," said Mets GM Omar Minaya, chuckling and shaking his head at the stunt, perhaps Martinez's craziest to date and one which has cost the team an estimated $16 million. "I can't believe we fell for the old 'torn rotator cuff' gag. Oh, Pedro. What will he think of next?" Mets manager Willie Randolph is planning to play a retaliatory prank on Martinez, which involves leaving him in past the sixth inning of a crucial playoff game.

    haha, blow me.
I'm a diehard yankee fan, have been since birth.
Haven't been on tgr for a long time.
Had I been aware of the padded room and the baseball
thread earlier in the season, you probably would have
seen irate ramblings from a very frustrated fan.
Either way I'm a baseball fan as well as a yankee fan,
and I love all the tight races.
Calling me a fairweather fraud......again, suck it hard.

EDIT- that was a bit harsh....but that's what being from NY does

You can blow me as well.......the first few months after i joined tgr, i only bothered to browse the ski/snowboard forum. And actually, since you mentioned it, the padded room isn't on the pull down list of forums.

Then there's really only two choices: You are a moron or a frontrunner. Which is it?

Actually I guess it's possible to be both.

Possible? I'd say the two are inextricably linked.

    Jesus christ.....
Someone tries to call me out as a fairweather fan, and I know I'm one of the most die-hard baseball fans I know, let alone a lifetime loyal fan of a particular team, so I respond appropriately. Then you come out of left field and try and pile on me. Who the fuck are you anyways? Oh yeah, just another red sox fan who's pissed that the team is on the verge of a historic collapse and taking out his frustrations on someone he doesn't know, beyond that he likes the yankees.
    Bravo.

Seriously Ill Yankees Fan Really Hoping It's Lou Gehrig's Disease

NEW YORK—Lifelong New York Yankees fan and construction worker Greg Snell, 44, told reporters yesterday that it would be "a great honor" if the troubling and debilitating illness currently plaguing him was diagnosed as Lou Gehrig's Disease, the fatal neuromuscular disorder named after the Yankees legend. "Let's face it, there's no way I can match what Gehrig did on the baseball field, but there's still a chance I got [ALS]," said Snell, adding that if his muscles were to gradually become smaller and weaker to the point of complete paralysis for the same reason Gehrig's did, he would consider himself the "luckiest man on the face of the earth." "I've noticed my bricklaying skills diminishing, and, because I can no longer perform at the level I am used to, I'll soon be forced to take myself out of the construction site. I can only hope it's just like Gehrig." Snell added that if he is not diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, he will attempt drink himself to death just like Mickey Mantle.

I don't mind heckling, I just wasn't going to let someone tell me I'm a frontrunner, and when that random red sox fan got involved, I had to respond to that stupidity........my bad.
I will not post on this forum again until the results from tomorrows games are in.

Unfortunatley if he played in front of the current fans , you guys would have wanted to trade him as soon as his numbers declined or benched him so McCarthy didnt "allow a vet to fuck things up."

Nah, we'd keep him around like Cal and let him get in the way of 25 or more victories just for the marketing blitz.

    I'm a Giants fan.

Going to another game tonight...I'm happy the whole Bonds record thing is over, the games are empty, I can sit wherever I want, and yeah we still lose most of the time, but we got some fast young guys running around some now....

Skikola, don't mind these jackasses, they're all Red Sox fans- what do you expect?

Another HR by Holliday... the Rockies are on fire. Too bad no one in front of them is losing.

Is that a threat or a promise?

Listen to Irul. Of course you knew this thread was going on and of course you kept your mouth shut until you thought you were on the winning side and of course you are a pussy and of course pussies never win, but Irul at least had enough balls to stick up for himself and his team, unlike you. You fag.

Irul is not a pussy and he puts his money on the line and he MAY win some of mine in a couple days but at least he had the balls to stand up and say what he thought.

So fuck you, you fag, and props to Irul.

    See how that tastes.

It's good to see you're including both kinds of Yankees fans. [Mrs. iceman excepted, of course--damn, it kind of smarts knowing that, can't even imagine what it's like for the man himself]

The Met game last night is giving my horrid flashbacks of game 4 of the NLCS. Absolutely disgusting play.
