    Am I more concerned about:

    The division
    or
The way the Sox are playing going into the playoffs

Defintely the way theyre playing. 10 games left, 6 at home versus some of the worst teams in baseball. Beckett pitching 2 of those, Wake at Tampa this week...Manny coming back. Its getting a little warm in here...but I still think the division is going to be tough to lose.

And all the "oh its only April...or May...or June" well, those games count too.

amazing how some players go from being nearly washed up to looking for a big free agent contract when they get to boston (lowell) while others go from being an elite closer to a washed up has been.

If you play it backwards at 78 it says: "This is Manny Ramirez. I want to be Derek Jeter's butt boy...oh, and OJ killed Paul"

look at the cardinals and Tigers last year they each limped into the playoffs only to meet in the series

Can someone explain to me how Tito brings Papelbon into the 8th inning tonight while down a run, yet somehow didn't think it was a good idea to bring him in to a 2-1 lead in the 8th inning last night after Gagne walked the bases full, and then walked the tying run in? What am I missing here?

Edit: Russ Adams just answered my question. Awesome.

Welll fuck! The Sox are officially done IMO. The Yanks look like a lock for the whole damn thing. They have been unbeatable the 2nd half. Sox can't hit anymore. This sucks.

It's a little early for that. Now, if we'd gone down 0-3 to the Yankees in the ALCS (including getting shelled 19-8 in game 3) I could understand your pessimism...

I'm well beyond worried. Papelbon has been awful in his last two stints, Papi is obviously hurt, Youk is still down for the foreseeable future and for that matter, so is crisp. We are basically throwing a AAA team out there every night. And our pitching staff consists of one solid started: Beckett

The Sox are in deep trouble.

dude, Mariano loading the bases last night was not my idea of an anxiety free win. I'm thinking that a cold hearted Torre would either demote him to late middle relief or just sit him and save Joba for the end, but that won't happen. Just like Sheffield last year, he'll allow a vet to fuck things up.

Anyway, 1 game behind in the loss column. This is fucking great.

I was going nuts cause I knew that something like this was going to happen, The team was looking flat then, and it looks worse now.

I'll be at fenway next weekend, and if they go to the alcs.
