i'm a little stumped. how about a couple hints of your choice.

what time of day is this? the shadow suggests either early/late day. the fresh snow suggest AM, which would then make it more likely in mineral.

the dark rock is more prominent in mineral and peruvian than gad. how far from the lift is the chute visible? if i knew all these i still probably couldn't guess it. maybe i should ski at the bird more.

Believe it or not, every single one of you Birdtards (and Utards who have skied the Bird) have passed by the exact spot from where I took these two pics countless times.

I hate to just come out and say where it is because you'll slap yourself in the head when you find out. It really is a duh once you know.

On busy days it is in full, continuous, view of probably 500 people riding the quad. I will say, for Josh's sake, that it is not the Needle, although that was a good guess. But, it's not even close to the Needle. In fact, it is NOT a west-north-western-ish facing like Eye of the Needle.

Oh, and the time of day was in the early afternoon.

This is sad both a instructor and a patroler cant figure where on there home mountain this is.

    my next guess anderson's Hill

well anderson's hill above the traverse hence the fresh track, with Tower 3 chutes in the background.

SWEEEET!! You got it! We all pass this exact spot every time we go out to Bookends. We just don't usually stop on the traverse and look around.

Isn't that weird that we just don't really notice?

that angle looks so weird. the chute itself is about 35 degrees in an average year and looks like 55* from hidden peak. it is fun one when it is open. i think i have a few pics from the july 4th season, 04-05. i'll post them if i can find them.
