Viva and I skied Squaw that day. Yeah, for some reason we bypassed those lines. Just not high enough on the sickter scale for us.

Huck, you and the bro should think about doing a film version of Squallywood but expand it to be longer than Immersion and include things like Donner Summit and other back country in Tahoe

the cinematography im Immersion was great by the way, stick with that format/point of view

So Huck just called me a minute ago and asked who this latent ski film genius was who had somehow figured out the right way to do things, and I said, it's

I was watching guys hit that once while lapping below the Palisades over to Headwall off Siberia chair. Had my stepson, Travis with me. It had been warming up all day and a chunk of that cornice as big as a VW bus broke off and almost took Travis out as it rolled down the bowl.

Wow, great to hear that Gunnar keeps steppin it up. Wish I was there for the action. If there's another big storm though, I'm hoping to do Mr. Toads.

    Question

Squaw people, I have a question for you. Do the palisades ever open on a weekend late in the season? I know it's usually closed on the weekends, but I was hoping, just hypothetically, that it might be open on a weekend if it snowed a lot during the week.

And those pictures and that video are crazy. The chimney is CHAMP!

Yes, the Sades do open on weekends at this time of year. The latest stills were taken on a Sunday. Just three guys with the Chimney in good conditions all to themselves. Now with most of the mountain shut down, everything is fair game from the Mainline chair on any day. Unfortunately, this weekend it's supposed to dump, so you might not be able to get up there. Or...Fortunately, this weekend it's supposed to dump, so I WILL be getting back up there. Seems like all major storms this year hit on weekends...

Alright, after all the techy coaching, here's a little more visible shot of Gunnar getting after Schmidiots on May 1 (when he did it two days earlier it looked quite a bit bonier). Dammit, how do I get the image to open directly here, as opposed to going to the biglines page?

    Thumbs up

    Thanks for the info.

As far as the picture goes, you need to use the link to the picture itself inside the [IMG] [/IMG] and not the picture the page is on to display it properly here. This should be the correct link: http://www.biglines.com/photos/blpic39927.jpg

One day I'll drop in on the Chimney. I've just gotta figure out how to land first...
