Alright, I'm going to get shelled because I have no photos, nor do I know how to post them on here should I have any. But finally, today--the 29th of April--the Chimney saw some real action. It wasn't even ideal conditions. The storm that blew through left about 2" of new instead of the 4" of perfect buff that I was hoping for. But a little bit held up inside the Chimney, and opened up some opportunities.
I got to get Easy Street (the first time it's been hit this year). It looked rowdier than it was: a 100' long, 65 degree narrow tube over a bunch of pepper to a smooth 30' air. Then my brother Robb threw down the Center line (it's first taking of the year). It was a 4' drop in to a critical stop on a 60 cornice face with tons of exposure, then gnarly arching turn to 30' air. Things carried on, people dropping in all over, until a guy named Gunner decided on Schmidiots. In it's absolute rawest form ever, with deadly consequences with the slightest error, he pulled it off.
Anyone got any photos? Otherwise, you may be able to check out the tracks by using the Ubercam at squaw.com... Fun day.
