    PNW this spring!

I am thinking its going to be really good. Its my first spring here, but I am thinking we are going to be skiing well into May at Whistler or Blackcomb and the backcountry should be good until Aug!

    Am I right about this?

Oh and Baker until the end of April...!!!

Thank god I'm not in Cal this year

You'll have to put some effort in and settle for some serious patch skiing, but check out www.turns-all-year.com for more PNW, specifically WA Cascades info. Reading the crazy shit those guys do to hit up some obscure patch of dirty snow in late July is hilarious. But the snow is there for the taking

    Watch your tone there!

Spring skiing can be great in the PNW once the mank subsides. We had some fantastic stuff last year up by Washington Pass. Cascade pass with Z-bo and Sq99 was a fuggin amazing day.
No spring love for me this year though.
But I'll still get 10 more days in before acl recon on 4-20.

    Somebody get after it, mkay.

^^^Yeah, I was referring to some of the TR's and lines that Kam puts down on that site. Crazy long approaches for minimal snow. Nothing wrong with extending the season as long as possible.

I can't wait for Washington Pass to get cleared for the season; I hope to finally meet some PNW mags up there for the B-day Tour or maybe Silver Star. Although the big questions is by the time it opens, will there be enough snow?

Are you thinking of "Baker" as that little ski area you have to go through to get to Shuksan Arm? The "Baker" relevant to spring skiing is a 10,778 ft. volcano, and I guarantee you it is good way past the end of April!!

The road up to Paradise on Mt. Rainier is supposed to be open to the public by May 1. Chinook Pass by May 24.

Ya, there's generally some snow up there:

It may take longer than normal for all the gated mountain roads to be opened this year due to all the flood damage last Fall.

I'm headed to PDX the second week of May for my little sister's wedding. I'm going to steal away for a couple of days and tag Adams or St. Helens me thinks. And/or another line on Hood weather permitting. (Leuthold OR the WyEast). I'll be paging the PNW peeps when I descend.

The Cascades will most certainly provide the goods into July.

BakerBunny is on the money. Baker in June: my favorite volcano route in the Cascades. Skiing at ski areas after they close is 50% butt crack when you live in a state so full of alpine beauty.
