Just got back from Vail... it was pretty damn good this morning. 8-10 inches of light powder on top of crust and rocks. Skied for about 4-5 hrs, once the pow was tracked out, it was pretty shitty with the crust underneath. Not many people there, so I got fresh tracks pretty much the whole morning.

It was snowing most of the drive back from Vail to the Front Range- really hard in some spots. Tomorrow should be pretty good too. There's a lot of areas at Vail that won't be tracked out and will be nice.

'Twas a good morning! Nobody on the hill, the sun is staying somewhat hidden. Frontside may have gotten more snow it seems.

You think? I found the most over in BSB and near Mongolia Bowls, in the trees. It was close to knee deep in there.

C'mon, everyone knows it's not steep enough to turn 'em in 17" back there!

I'm glad you guys got some good turns.

I made some turns up at Breck today on my lunch break and it was pretty marginal. The only good snow was up on the north side of Peak 8(Whale's Tale) where the snow underneath the fresh stuff hasn't been baked. 7"-8" of fresh on packed powder was pretty decent, but then you had to deal with the zero visibility. Even northish facing terrain down just a little lower on the mountain has the thaw/freeze crust underneath the 5" that fell.

Some of co-workers thought today was "great" and "awesome". Fucking retards.

Was at Breck from 10am - 1:30pm ... alot of dust on crust. pretty socked in up top... terrible visability. Nice laps in the trees - glades were good where the bumps were not. Skiers right off of chair 6 had alot of hidden death cookies.

Thought about vail, but figured they lied about the amount of snow they got - and was feeling too poor to slap $17 down for parking.

Overall a nice little getaway into some pow, just when I thought things were getting grim.

Don't be fooled, the coral reef was definitely underneath @ Vail today, it's just that the 8" skied more like a foot+ in spots.

Well, at least someone got after it. My very tired (lazy) friends wanted to sleep in, so Keystone gnar it was. Lots of crust underneath.

Interesting. Throughout the day there it just got deeper and deeper, from boot to pockets of knee deep later in the afternoon. On the front side, no less. I had a lot of fun with it on skinny park noodles and helping a chick from Florida get her powder game on. We skied various woods shots and the easy bumps on the bottom of Santa Fe and right under the gondola was especially fun. Great day to be paid to ski at Keystone.
