    it was indeed good.

graydon, myself and yes even squirrel were on the late train this morning. 10:30 arrival, 2:00 departure. only got a few laps inbounds and spent a lot of time on a redemption quest to get up 261.

finally squirrel and i got up there. had a look around. lined up a shot, but the snow looked a little questionable so the photo slut pulled out and we instead opted to just ski the damn thing. had a great time on some new terrain, squirrel pointed out some new stuff that i had not seen but had heard the names of. great stuff up there. must get mofro to show me around more.

i think squirrel got a few photos from today. i only have one or two shots from up on 261, the nikon was having some problems with flat light today and refused to focus and fire. must figure that little hitch out.

good day all in all. better than i expected for sure.

and yes lets hope the week stays on track as predicted. looks $$$$$ out of $$$$$ on the "thats money brah" scale.

Baker exceeded expectations. Up to a foot of new, empty chairs. Was able to get first tracks for the better part of the morning inbounds, and the elbow was ahootin and ahollerin.
    Living vicariously through myself.

Yep, I caught some of the first tracks on the backside as well. Good day for sure.

Only a few complaints about today:

Huge lift lines in the morning

Skiers at Alpy just can't powder8

and lack of tracks in Stokes made it difficult on deciding where to go next

Well, those and having to leave before noon to get back to the city.
Hope someome slayed the Hummocks because there were still no tracks in there when I left.

Yeah, "pleasantly surprised" was a good description.
Sweet day yesterday and no one there. One of those tracks in the photo on Rollen are mine - as I made set three. I made it to the Hummocks and there were two or three sets before mine. I got fresh tracks all the way down Great Scott Bowl, though, and Big Trees. I started hiking Pinneaple Pass being about the third or fourth one, but a couple of dudes came back down the front side, and another dude was traversing around a long way - guess he didn't want to do the little drop off the top (which did look a little questionable). I got back to Great Scott and the only other people back there were a couple of guys that had skinned up. And then to find nobody had been in Big Trees - at least the line I took. Awesome.

    ^^

if some of the "dudes" in question were in an orange jacket and black pants, and green jacket and brown pants then that was squirrel (orange) and me (green).

feel free to say hi next time.

edit: the web cams make it look like it rained. at least the snow level is staying low.

Gorgeous at Xtal yesterday. Inbounds freshies all morning in the sun. Few patrons, no lines. It did not suck.

No lines = no chance to ask for change... We spent almost all morning in GV and only went south once in the afternoon after a couple of still creamy laps in campbell basin. Skied spook bowl for the first time (whoa!), and got first trax in what I like to call the $million chute around rinky dinks. 2:30 rolled around and fresh lines in bounds were still in plain sight... but I was cooked, just like anything that had been skied.

Sorry we missed you. Next time I hope! We were in GV Snorting Elk most of the morning too. With my 8 yr old son. He was charging. I need to do a kid-stoke TR.
