ANYBODY going from the east side to the west tomorrow that either needs a ride or can give me one and wants to split gas?

Anybody gonna be upthere between 3-5 that wants to show me around?
FYI- they close Edelweiss at 3:30. I am likely going to be at Alpy until then - then at Central.

i think most are killing it softly in the morning then heading back to seattle for workage.

dude, please find somebody to show you around if you are not privy to alpental. chair 2 closes at 3:30 so you are going to need to get right on it to get up to the goods.

have fun and be safe. nobody wants to see those coveted 89 squads up for sale due to injury etc...

Fyi, it's a rolling close later in the year. Now at 5pm for Edelwiess.

I'll be up ~9-1pm to catch the midweekly dose of winter.

Chair 2 opened @ 9:05am with High T in full effect.

Put first tracks down Hummocks, again down Mach's, then cleaned up Ghost Bowl.
unfortunatly had to beeline for work but those three laps made me very very happy. knee deep, light & blue bird!

back up at Central tomorrow night

Phill: I don't think you need a guide. Just be a bit cautious, you could get cliffed out or find a scary hole in a gully. But maybe I'm an unreliable source.

Phill, just follow all the tracks. But be careful not to follow all of the tracks.

Man that was just what I needed. Rehabit, BC-FLow, Squirrel99, Mindoc- awesome making the bluebird pow turns with you guys this morning. The High-T was a cold smoke gravity train today.

It was warming quite a bit and snow was starting to slough off the cliffs when I left but there was still goodness to be had. 261-slayed again. I have a few pics I'll throw up tonight when BC-Flow posts some from a better camera later.

Indeed, it did not suck again this morning. Blue skies, and deep snow. There were pockets in the BC easily 18-24" deep. Was trying to figure out if you characters were there, but no luck.

BTW, if anyone happened to find a bottle of "violet glide" low-flouro liquid wax at alpental today or yesterday I'd love it back. It's for my 8 year old's racing steeze and that shit is expensive! It managed to find it's way out of the belt pocket of my pack where I'd foolishly left it after last weekend's J6 racing adventure. Not hopeful, but thanks in advance.

Seeing as how most of the rivers and creeks over this way are too high to kayak, I would say that Alpy is flowing downstream.

Baker here I come, it must be dumping there right now 34 at the parking lot. This does not sound good for Alpental.

Was pissing down and windy at Silver this afternoon, nice schmeary snow, but inconsistent overall. Maybe we should bump the summit up?

Some guy posted a TR from Summit Central today on Turns All Year that gives a little bit of an indication. Didn't sound very good today.

However, with temps falling tonight and tomorrow, we just might have an OK day. I think I'll make a go of it.

I was pleasantly surprised by conditions on chair 2 today. A good six inches in spots and fluffy creamy, but not to heavy. Got in lots of bc laps....there are some big ass holes to watch out for! Fun day.

Stevens was off the hook. Face shots all morning for me!!!! So happy, been waiting for so long. Got first tracks on 2 backside runs, big chief and prochute. When traversing the snow was breaking against my knee solid 8" or more inplaces.
also anybody skiing at stevens should go check out what is the HUDGEST avi runnout I have ever seen, its near tyemill and complete with gigantic snow boulders and everything.

Day was perfect till I got back to my locker room and realized some jackass had stolen nearly 400 dollars of my shit. I keep feeling elated from the awesome day I had and depressed over loosing my shit.

Agreed. Alpental was surprisingly good today. Snow was the best on north facing slopes that hadn't seen as much sun. I didn't make it into the BC b/c I was with some out-of-towners but a lot of good runs inbounds. International and Snake Dance were a lot of fun.

Fingers crossed that this forecast for next week holds!

seems like some big ass holes are always try to ruin the BC experience for the rest of us.

Only a few complaints about today:

Huge lift lines in the morning

Skiers at Alpy just can't powder8

and lack of tracks in Stokes made it difficult on deciding where to go next

Well, those and having to leave before noon to get back to the city.
Hope someome slayed the Hummocks because there were still no tracks in there when I left.

Yeah, "pleasantly surprised" was a good description.
