Me too! The best days this season I have no photographic evidence they existed.

I did the combe only once - it was pretty wind affected over there while the snow on the front side of the mountain was a lot better, especially lower down.

I did eight laps in total, summit to parking lot = 12000m of all pow, all untracked. My first time on the "front side" (lines that end at the Col du Pillon) and this side of the mountain is absolutely incredible.

The last lap met this dude on the telepherique and he took me on the line at the far right. Cliffbands everywhere with very tricky routefinding, a lot of exposed traverses and some tight couloirs approaching I guess 50 degrees.

G3000 has now, officially, become my absolute favorite place to ski in the Alps.

This afternoon was very scary at le Brevent in Chamonix. There were wet slides everywhere. I watched a guy get swiped off a pretty big cliff by a wet slide and he landed on a bunch of rocks (he died (at least that what patrollers said)++++vibes++++). My friend started a slide, nothing happened too seriously. Then, while I was traversing my friends yelled avalanche and i pointed my skis to get to a safe place (it was a decent sized wet slide). Then we saw numerous slides that were being set off by patrollers. So we found a jump and did back flips.

la grave has been pretty good recently, we've not had the snow you guys in the north have had, but in the last three days i've skied the pan de rideau, chiroze, orcieres (twice), and la voute today.
the face of the pan was in excellent condition, the traverse still a pant shitter, and the glacier part was good altho the snow was slightly affected
the runs to the road are pretty good until about 1600m. chiroze was amazing, knee deep in places, and really really cold, cold snow.

I skied the pentes de l'hôtel all day on Sunday at le Brevent. With slight cloud cover and still cold temps, the snow was still pretty light in the morning. The snow got heavier and heavier throughout the day with the warming temps. Definitely gloppy in some spots at the end of the day. Sorry to hear that someone died yesterday.

I've seen quite a few large wet slides at the Brevent over the years.

The death at le Brevent was a 27 year old man who was a teacher for the
ENSA (ecole nationale de ski et alpinisme) RIP.
That was a scary day.

On the other hand last saturday after the storm I skied a foot of blower at les grands montets. Untracked all day with some fun lines. No pictures because I forgot my camera and plus there was bad viz.

And what hurts the most is not being so close, but actually being really really far away when I could have been there ...

no, Pitztal actually, and the trees are at Axamer Lizum. i am "shooting" with some - um - olympus (i had to check) point and shoot. mostly i just take pictures of places where a skier was a few seconds ago. i totally rule at that.

Thanks Indris for the local FYI.....LITT you know the weather man is only right 10% of the time. Report showed a nice cell over G3 but the "local report" says not that much over there. Thanks mags!
