Nice one, Geo. Glad you're finally getting some.

    Friday - Champ-city PDS.
Arrived in snowfall which continued all day long.
Knee-high overall and deeper in gulleys and trees.

When we came back out after lunch our morning's lines were filled in by wind and new snowfall.
Damn, we had to re-farm it.

Too many lines to farm. Left plenty on the table.

best snow of the season down here.

Did the Croches-Berard tour, through the keyhole. $$$$$$$$$. ~25cm fresh, third track down the whole valley for 850m+. Good viz all the way.

Tomorrow weather looks perfect. G3000 Combe closed today according to the website, will it open tomorrow and does anyone want to join me on a day trip there?

Was at La Plagne yesterday (Friday). Fantastic snow conditions above 1800meters, light dry snow, especially up high. Given the off and on cloud cover, no one there and so I got fresh tracks most of the day.

Sunday's weather is looking good, so look out for the crowds, don't forget to change your clocks.

Yeah, funny that winter arrived in late march, but I'll take it. I've somehow managed to ski 18 of the last 23 days, not bad for a london stiff.

Cham still in good shape considering the horrid season up till march. Tuesday was tits on gm, blower like I've never skied in euroland. Wednesday was time to hit shoots at brev, sweetness on some aspects. Good times.

I've been crap on trs this year, x-gf nicked the camera and I'm not one for stopping on a pow day.

Considering a loooong weekend next weekend. Is it me or do the seasons seem to be getting later and later?

Franz, I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Last week seems to be the only time this season when it's dumped and not been ruined the following day by high temps.

    truth.

Mar. 11 -17th was Spring touring/hiking off-piste. Barely covered and hardly skiable pistes on PDS CH-side.
Mar. 19 - 24th storms and best snow of the season Weds - Sat.
    MeteoSuisse calls 4 warm-up Monday - Wed.
Sadly, melting most of what has just been put down.
    Then, who can tell?

Overall this season... it arrives and is wonderful, then gone in a day or 2.

Best day of the season at G3 today... in terms of stats: 12000m+ vert, 75%+ powder. Skiied alone b/c chamonix friends all think their resort is the best in the world, don't want to pay the lift ticket price. want to go touring. touring ok fine: you get like 1000m of pow max. Great fun! but i know g3 for exampe is out there... = fuckloads of awesome skiing.

teleal doesn't respond to my text, litt in pds. g39 and jay in engleberg = too far for a day trip. Whatever. meet people on the lift, have a great time, fucking best day of the season so far. 'la vie et beau' on dit. je suis d'accord.

Sounds like a really great day of skiing, wish you could post some pictures though. I agree with you 100% though on the "hipper than hip" Chamonix crowd ...

-subtle has been a little busy lately.

-LITT has been teetering on 999 posts for about 3 months now. for some reason he can't make a new post without deleting an old one.

-don't be torn. it's hit or miss. it was great but you would have had to have been super lucky with the timing.

in other news, i think this is worthy of cross-posting for now...

we've had a classic genoa low yesterday and today (the classic genoa low definition is originally from Roo, BTW). I crossed the Gr S Bernard yesterday, and whereas verb had just a few clouds, aosta valley was receiving a very good dumping. I've seen pics of epic faceshots in pila. Now meteosuisse radars indicate that today almost all of the snow is between alagna and macugnaga. Just in case anyone is interested.
