SSB has been busy these days, but it is normally busy during Easter,
which represents the last ski weekend for many people.

Same goes for many other quiet high altitude ski stations.

The difference is this, Easter (or Spring conditions) is here already.
No snow down low means people are seeking it up high.
Fret not, given snow, the stashes will return to quiet.

That being said, there are plenty of places that are quiet, hidden, and unknown.
I've said it before, and I say it again, if there is a lift there, try it out.

I could make a list of lesser knowns, but I am not stupid.
    Ski, Bike, Climb.
    Resistence is futile.

k not to jinx it or anything, but a really promising report from this morning:

"The winter offensive is confirmed! The vigorous winter offensive seen for several days by the models has been confirmed. Snow is awaited until plain as of Monday in the course of the day and for quasi all the next week. The gel will be daily at any altitude and the icy language of air coming from the North-West should extend far towards the South, until' with the shores Mediteranean. The Sunday day should be saved grace a last-ditch struggle of the anticyclone which, in an ultimate effort, should push a dorsal in direction of the Alps, barring thus temporarily the road with the surge of polar air. Then, the Atlantic anticyclone should go up towards north, in a position which one would have liked to see occurring in January and February, forming a true toboggan to make to make slip the Scandinavian depressions and quite cold and wet air in direction of the Alps. A situation of the North-West, favorable to good falls of snow, especially for our solid masses préalpins. The first precipitations for the moment are awaited for Monday in morning, the snow line going down in plain for the end day. And for the moment, the models see the continuation of a frankly winter, snowy weather and well cold for the season for all the week to come."

    This could be good no?

yes thank you!!! All I have been thinking about here in Leysin riding up the lifts are where to build downhill MTB trails(cause its DIRT under the lift), and where to buy some board shorts. So mentally I contributed something(If the snow actually comes)

wow you all mountain bike here too sweet--- I heard they had the world cup finals here in 2001 or something around there. There is so much good terrain to work with here they could have a really legitimate bike park. Maybe I should talk to the commune about hiring me to cut some trails, how sick would that be! I miss my bike sooooooo much. Once the snow starts flying again, I will be ok again, but with all this dirt around its torturing you know.

    Riksgränsen:

    Nysnö senaste 24 h: 25 cm
    Natursnö i terräng: 185 cm

And it's supposed to snow little bit more for couple of days. Gotta go to check it, hopefully those reports are true

it's not really that exciting. we bitch about the lack of snow and then tell each other to stop bitching about the lack of snow. and occasionally subtle plague predicts the storm of the season and everyone wets their pants.

I am the lord of these vast and uncharted lands!

edit: and by the way i actually do predict the storm of the season for next week
but the system seems to wander westwards with every model cycle.
this has to stop stop, because right now chamonix is the last resort getting hit by the full onslaught.

Somehow, even without much snow, we have accomplished 110 pages of babble.

    I'm going skiing tomorrow.

I love the NE Atlantic ! The massive dump next week will save the season, I had given up hope of seeing powder again this season, but it seems we will get some even down here in Bulgaria .. the firn season will have to wait for a few weeks.
