    Hey Guys,

We were up at the top of California Chute with a paraglider when the Helicopter circled and landed... we had to sit and wait until it took off to get going, and had time to reflect on whoever got hurt, and some of the choices we make.

Really sorry to hear it was someone on this msg board, and super healing energy directed in your direction.

    Take Care.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

    lhs,
666 has pics of every xray and ct scan we took. I am guessing they will end up in a TR of some kind. (BTW, I passed on putting on some scrubs and watching the surgery, 666 probably is disappointed as it would have made for a more complete TR).

    LB,
I didn't say 'exactly' those words, but on seperate occasions, both 666 and I spoke to the surgeon and stressed what an active lifestyle H leads.

    Snowtigress,
    Why the finger???

As for those of you whom I have helped in any little way, you have all repaid my efforts with incredible generosity. It is never necessary but incredibly thoughtful.

OK, group hug, then no more sappiness. Hijack ends now.

H's fracture really scared the shit out of me, but really, Dr. S did a friggin amazing job. Her rehab will be long, but the fact the he thinks she will be back is very very encouraging.

This shocks me to hear knowing how, um, excited you got when girlski was lancing her toe down in Las Leñas. Where's that video? Oh, here

I'm so glad to hear that H is gonna make a recovery. It was pretty unnerving seeing that helicopter knowing what it was doing.

    Here's to some productive PT.

If you get seriously hurt and are flown out by anything other than CHP you're looking at a $15,000 bill.
It was CHP -- do they never bill for rescues? If so, more good news for the 666s!

Looking forward to seeing a full recovery road bike TR in a few months!

Always bummed to hear when someone goes down. Must have sucked to watch happen 666. I sometimes wonder how crap I would feel if Mrs. Comish were to go down.

Good luck Mrs. 666. You are pretty psyched to have had someone like LPH there on the inside. Props to LPH for helping them and I'm sure getting them way better info than would be available otherwise.

Man, I don't log in for a few days, and bad shit happens. I take karmic responsibility.

Good to hear that the worst is behind.

Vibes to the Sixes. Peace out. [throws sign]

+++++vibes++++ at least it is the end of the season. I had a similar injury and was good to go in less than 6 months. Perfect timing for a fall 07 return. Dive into rehab with the same ambition you have for skiing and you'll be back.

    Glad things are looking up...

Not much to add, but more +++++++++vibes+++++++++ for the rehab effort that now lies ahead. Stick with it and you'll be back, better than ever.

And yes, console yourself in the fact that it appears to be a short season out west here this year. You got the last of the good stuff..

I'm so sorry to hear of your injury, Mrs 666! I've been there - I broke (well, "pulverized" as my ortho said) my ankle in 2001 and now I'm back to being nearly as good as gold. I'll have to read this thread to find out your details of your injury, but if you have pins in like I do, it'll get stiff sometimes but you'll be perfectly fine. Good luck and heal up!! I still don't know how exactly you broke your ankle in a ski boot.....now that's talent.

    Update:

Surgery went very well, she's been in pain, tons of hardware inserted, been up on crutches and walker, but feeling better.

Surgeon (Southard) came in and showed me the super gnar scars. They had to take a bonegraft below her knee to add to the ankle area. It will be a long recovery but he thinks that running will be the biggest hurdle or non-activity.

Mr. 666 has been a tremendous nurse, from Jamba Juice runs, to Frappachino light madness, then pillow fluffing, he's on track to becoming a world class husband.

    ....will be released today.

Don't worry, you'll screw up somehow.
