Tahoe F'ked or.. maybe Squaw will open the pool

LONG TERM...SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... ...for Mt Rose area

DRY CONDITIONS IN EXTENDED WITH GRADUAL WARMING TREND. ON SATURDAY ... HEIGHTS WILL START TO LOWER ON MONDAY AS ANOTHER SYSTEM MOVES INTO THE PACIFIC NW. HOWEVER...WITH THE RIDGE AXIS MOVING INTO THE ERN GREAT BASIN AND SLY FLOW INCREASING OVER THE SWRN CONUS...TEMPERATURES ON MONDAY SHOULD AGAIN BE IN THE LOWER 70S IN WRN NEVADA VALLEYS.

TEMPERATURES ON BOTH SATURDAY AND TUESDAY SHOULD BE AROUND 10
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY...THE TWO WARMEST DAYS OF THE EXTENDED...AFTN TEMPERATURES IN WRN NEVADA VALLEYS SHOULD BE AROUND 15 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS WILL BE CLOSE TO THE RECORD HIGHS IN THE MID 70S ON THESE DATES.

I see a forecast for freezing levels to be above 10,000' through the weekend. NOAA is more reasonable, I hope they are correct.

Ullr, can't we at least salvage a decent melt freeze cycle before everything rots?

Feeling your pain in MT as well. Billings is suppose to be 74 degrees on Monday and low 50s to mid 60s the rest of this week. I predict Red Lodge to close in two weeks if this does not stop and soon. Spring is here.

First we get snow levels down to 1500' then we get summer-like temps? WTF?????!?!?!?! Well...winter was fun for the 3 weeks it lasted. So much for a Miracle March like last year.

I'll do a snow jig or two

I put the cab-over pop up back on the Tacoma today for some spring cleaning. Pressure tested the LP lines, cleaned out the heater, and lubed the blower motor. Ordered a few small parts to get her ready for camping season, and dropped off the cooktop at the powder coater's for refinishing.

Yes, seriously. I'll leave it at that.

    aint got no faith

you all are the 1st to give up on the season back in Jan and BAM, 7 feet in six days in february, and now you guys are sayin the same crap as before. why don't you all move to alaska where you have more consistent weather patterns. You live in tahoe where the weather fluctuates. if you don't like it leave! behind this heat wave awaits a 2nd ice age!

Dah, I love it here. But this warmth is shredding the base. I'm have no doubt storms will come but this warm interim isn't something to rejoice over.

    Global warming sucks....

I'd take smaller snowfalls and colder temperatures all season over warmer temps and large snow events. Only to see it melt, get soggy, slide, or crust over.

On a lighter note, Rose opened a few of the chutes. Anyone get in there? How is it?

I am treating this like multiple short seasons:
    Dec-Jan: Ski Season 1
    Feb: 3 week bike season
    Feb 20-March 5th: Ski Season 2
    March 8 - ???: bike season 2
    March ?? (20th): Ski Season 3

Missoula was in the 70s yesterday. It's already getting close to that today.

If Snowbowl stays open through the end of March, I'll be very surprised.

The Honda Ski tour will be awesome. Sun, pro ho's, bands, big air. I'll be there. I wish the pool was open though.
