    ANT mounting point

Where are people mounting their ANT's in relation to the mount line on the ski?
    Thanks Shane

    I went 8.5. I wish I'd gone 9.

    Go 9.

If you read the other threads you know that the mount line is NOT reliable. Mine was a good 1.5cm different on each ski.

If you go with the mount line, measure them first. I like -9cm from true center.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to go -9 from true center. When I was measuring them for true center I noticed the mount line was a little different from one ski to the other.
    Thanks Shane

how do you find true center? do you use a soft tape and let it lay flat on the top sheet, including the tip and the tail?

I just did -2 from the marked line -- after matching up the marked lines on the two skis. One of them was off, so I arbitrarily picked one of them as the line, then measured 2cm rearward from that point on both skis, and mounted there.

I thought the ANTs were hard to ski for the first few days, mostly because I didn't change the very very sharp factory tune, and they skied weird and hooky. After detuning, skiing them a bit, then detuning some more (plus some edge deburring), now the edges are normal, and I like them.

They feel like the 188 stiff Bros I had, but stiffer under foot and in the tail, and floatier.

Whether right or wrong, I used a flat tape tip to tail. I came up with 191.5 cm/2=95.75cm from the tip which ended up being -2 cm from the factory mark on one ski and -3 cm on the other (this is the ski in the pic). The pic is of my ANTs next to my Gots with the edge contact points on all 3 skis lined up apples to apples with arrows pointing at the midsole marks I use. One pair of Gots is mounted on the FR mark and the other is mounted just a touch in front of the FS mark. I like both mount positions depending on the snow. The ANT and 190 Gots have almost identical running lengths and very similar dimensions with the ANT having a little more sidecut and touch stiffer.

Long story short, -9 cm from center on ANTs is is essentially the same mount point as the FR line on Gots and the ANT factory line is similar to the FS line. So, if you've skied Gots, this might help.

PS. I took the Naxos off my ANTs so if anyone has something that will fit a P18 hole pattern (the original drilling), I'd be interested in buying.

-2.5 from line, wherever that is in comparison from center.

I just moved mine back from the factory line -2.5 or -9.5 from center and there is a monster difference. I went an extra .5 cm back because I have a bigger foot 335mm sole length, so the ball of the foot is further away from the midsole of the boot, so it ends up more forward than a smaller boot would. Monster difference with tip dive and tails releasing into the turns. At the line they dove when I was centered on the boots and the tails would hang up. The new spot is good so far, still getting the hang of charging on them. I think anywhere between -2 or -3 would be money. They still seem fine switch at the -2.5 as well.

I mounted them at -9 from center and skied them today. This ski is awesome. I had so much fun on them. They are not very turny, at slow speeds but once I got them up to speed they railed on groomers.

In the soft stuff I thought they were pretty great. I had no problem with tip or tail hooking. They felt really light and poppy, I spun a couple of 3's on them and was surprised how easy they were to spin. My other everyday ski is a first gen BD, and while they have very similar tip/waist/tail dimensions they ski very different. Thanks for the advice on a mount point, neg nine feels good to me.
    Thanks Shane
